@English: Oh no, 'THE" video game awards is GiantBomb's 7-10 podcasts discussion GOTY and then their end videos.

Everyone who doesn't hate themselves knows it's the truth. The VGA's is just a little thing Spike does to keep itself from becoming another cable channel that plays CSI and Law and Order 23 outa 24 hours a day.

I may be stupid, but I don't know if Rising is different from Revengeance... I assume not but it seemed like they showed a trailer and showed MG: Rising after it, then a bit of combat that said MG:Rising: Revengence after it. Either way, it looks so fucking crazy that it could be awesome.

....how so?   This totally makes sense as 'the' video game awards show, it's an awards show, it's supposed to have this flashy superficial vibe, and you shouldn't ask for more. They represented video games well tonight and the show was entertaining over all.

Well it didn't have quite as many groan worthy moments as previous years. The host wasn't bad, if he had some good writing to back him up he would have been way better. Biggest problem is the criminal lack of focus on the actual AWARDS. Trailers are great an all but three award presentations over 2 hours is pretty sad.

yea they forgot the award part in this whole thing. they had20 awards rattled off in 15 seconds. it was trailer after trailer and then here game of the year good night. The teabag thing was dumb and the feleica day segments were awful. Better writing would help a lot

I guess they said "Two Bioware titles". One was new. But... a while ago we saw a screenshot of something that was suppose to come from a totally new franchise that was made by them (some exploding bikes in a desert). That couldn't be this, right? I mean... Command & Conquer is not a new franchise.

Regarding Last of Us it must have been that game Keighley spoke about. It was a PS3 exclusive, in-engine and would make our jaws drop. But he also said it was a new IP and a supprise and yet they revealed it in advance. Hmm...

I have enjoyed seeing The Black Keys get progressively better with each album. They are finally getting the recognition they deserve and you want to feel betrayed because of their success? Fuck you buddy.

Yo so funfact: I love the Black Keys and seeing them go from strength to strength and seeing them get more popular is fantastic. However, I met Dan Auerbach once with a friend who heard of them through Rock Band. When he confronted Dan with this fact he seemed legit offended and spent more time than he would have talking to us normally just to tell us how much he hated videogames and that he gets that so often.

I'm not some twat who wants the Black Keys to stay underground but considering how strongly he felt about his aversion to games I would hope that he would have to constituency to not crack under the offer of money and keep his values. I want them to be more popular, but whilst appearing on the VGAs gives them a popularity boost it comes with a massive loss of face if they can be bought that easily.

@FluxWaveZ: I'm really excited that Blizzard won the Gamer God award and that Skyrim won Game of the Year! I was also blown away by the Metal Gear Rising trailer at the end! I started out embarrassed then I became mad. It evolved to depression. The music from Bioshock Infinite matched the mode I was in and also giving me more reason to believe I am connected to a game that has shown maybe 15 minutes worth of footage. The VGAs will continue to exist and some people accept this is the best video games can do. That makes me sad. Maybe one day someone will aim for an audience
