We should wait for Protoss to not be a broken fucking nerfed mess though.  Since the GS Beta Post-Update, they ruined the Protoss...so all games are TvT, TvZ, ZvZ, or PvP.

I'll give it a shot, though my ass has been handed to me in every match I've played so far (3).

What? I don't know what you're talking about, Protoss has been quite good for me. I just placed in gold this morning, playing every game as Protoss. The only change to Protoss in patch 9 was a slight increase in immortal build time. Anyway, thanks for signing up :) "

One thing that might be problematic, is that Battle.net for SC2 is divided in regions.
I noticed that when i tried to add people in the "i got the beta" thread it just doesn't work.   
You can only add and play against people in your own region, blizzard confirms it here.

 Q. Will we be able to play with our friends on other continents like we could in StarCraft's Battle.net?

A. Currently we do not have plans to integrate friends between regions for launch. In the long run that's definitely something we'll be looking at. 

So make sure you all are in the same region before you start up this tournament!

I'm in Canada and a little one v one tournament sounds like a great idea.

EDIT: Do we know how they are dividing regions for Battlenet this time around?

Anyone want to do a 2v2 with me and team up?

Added a tentative bracket to the first post, along with some more info. When do you all think we should hold the tournament? We could possibly do it this weekend, though maybe we should allow some more time for people to sign up. Let me know what you think.

Man, i got 3 finals coming up. Right now I'm worrying more about those but when the game comes out. I'll be all over any tournament.

In regard to when to hold this thing, you may just need to set a date (like fri/sat/sun of next weekend) and tell everyone that if you cant make it you get DQ or something. Another possible way of doing it is to just have the entrants play each other and send the replay to you harris and you could fraps the replays up onto youtube but that might take a lot of work. I also have finals in a week or two so I'm sure everyone's busy with that stuff but ill do whatever i can to make it!

I suppose I can sign up now. I will be unable to play until Thursday due to my PC troubles, so only sign me up in a game that will be Thursday or later. If that's impossible, just don't sign me up.

Also: I suggest making the first few rounds the best out of 3, the semifinals out of 5, and the finals out of 7. If that's too many games for people we could do first few rounds are one game, semifinals 3, finals 5.

I was going to add Brad to the PM for this but it seems you can't. Either the filter just can't find him or the staff have made it so no one can add them to PM's.

The semis and at least the finals should probably be a best of three, that's how many of the "serious hardcore" tournaments seem to do things. I did send Brad a PM and linked to this thread and suggested he join but who knows if he'll read it. Based on the podcasts it sounds like he's been playing a good bit so he could probably at least compete!

One match is fine since you're using a double elimination format.  I agree that finals should be best 2 out of 3, and maybe semis.

Yeah, I think the semis and finals being best of 3 sounds good. I'll update the first post.

Are you guys planning on holding more of these? I have finals next week therefore I have to be living in the library this weekend rather than playing starcraft 2 :(
