Pascal is the literal worst.

I'll probably pick this up in a year or so when I get some free time since I love the combat of the Tales games, but I'm morbidly curious about something. How bad are the characters in this one? They're usually pretty anime-ass anime, so I'm sure there's gotta be something that I can poke fun at.

Maybe my tolerance has just decreased with age, but this group feels a lot worse than any I can remember. Well, they're probably on the same level of awful as Abyss's group was (sans Jade, of course).

Got it day one, and just about done with the childhood arc I think. Little thick with the cliches right now but then that's most tales games and i'm enjoying the main cast. Charterer design is okay, yes on voiced skits, and good acting for the most part. Asbel's dad is the only horrible one so far, but others are making up for it.

So bottom line for me is yes using old stories, but execution of then has me curious and I like the main cast. Starting with childhood arc works for me as it has me worried about how serious some characters look later on. It's also been forever since I've played this type of game so i'm enjoying it for that.

I really like this game. Best JRPG in quite some time. Not played a Tales game in forever but this seems like one of the best.
