Massive TF2 rip off spotted
So what? Things get ripped off all the time, it's how innovation works. Taking an old idea and tacking something else on to it.
Besides, this is more like Toy Story meets the current obsession with multiplayer shooters rather than a direct ripoff of TF2.

Not necessarily, that being my point.
Things get ripped off all the time, it's how things work, and it's how we get new products, by taking ideas presented by old ones and adapting them. Besides, this doesn't look that much like TF2, and it's obviously lacking classes such as the Medic, Pyro and Spy, and Engineer, so it's obviously more pure action based rather than strategy and only resembles TF2 in style. Who fucking cares? If people didn't take things they thought were cool from other products we would'nt have Gears of War, Dead Space, TF2 in the first place, L4D, or in fact, any of todays modern games.
To summaries it's a 3rd person Team Fortress 2, with anime based toy story characters all taking place on De_rats from CS.
Awesome.
I think i'm with The_A_Drain on this one, this doesn't look like a blatant rip off of TF2. There are two teams, one guy has a minigun, and another has bombs? That's a rip off? It obviously takes some things TF2 did into account, but who wouldn't, it was a great game. And besides, do you expect every game to be completely innovative and have all new ideas?
The only thing that the trailer showed me was that the snipers are overpowered.
looks bad @CowMuffins said:
" It looks like a fail version of TF2. And it's free probably, so it's going to be terrible. "Yeb
let them make it and lose a lot of money in the progress
That's the problem, things can't be entirely new and innovative. In order to be innovative you have to take an idea, or product that has been used before. Yet people don't seem to understand that and chuck the words fresh, new, original and innovative in the same barrel all the time.
That being said, I'd probably give this a shot if it was free to play, it has enough differences from TF2 to make it a different experience.
I'm a little surprised that this trailer is aimed at the western gaming market (what with the english voice work and all).
Come to think of it , the likeness to TF2 (which to me seems undeniable) might actually be a marketing move, to a degree it worked, I did see this on a number of news sites (though never in a positive light). Any publicity is better than none I suppose.
Though I might just be giving them a little to much credit here.
It'll be like TF2 except without interesting, unique characters, great gameplay and dripping with valve quality. Just like Battlefield: Heroes.

It's not a bad thing, and besides how do you come to the assumption it's a rip off, when I myself differences from the get go within the gameplay footage. They're simply using a a well honed formula that works, and adding what they think works better. Videogames are a art form just like any other, artists throughout time have been inspired the efforts of those that have come before them. The exact same applies here.
It looks like it might be a lot of fun, very Toy Story and Small Soldiers-esque.
" @Brundage said:It's a joke, lighten up." of course its a rip off, that's what asians do. "I'm extremely offended, ban this guy now. "

English voice work doesn't necessarily mean it's aimed at the west. Plenty of japanese only products, and products that eventually see western release, are voiced in (often very bad) english, apparently it's considered 'cool' and whatnot.
Resident Evil is a prime example, voiced in english and subtitled in Japanese from the word go.
Meh, those who don't see it's a rip off are fooling themselves... There's the heavy with a machinegun, there's the scout with a bat, there's the sniper, the soldier with super jump (rocket jump)... Even the music in the trailer is similar, and they attempt a similar cartoon humour for the intro, which they don't quite pull it off... No, it's not 1:1 of every single TF2 aspect, like duh, this is third person, but you can clearly see the influence....
And yes, there are many other games that spawned from the Team Fortress formula, including Team Fortress 2, like pretty much all class-based FPS out there, but you can certainly see more differences between Battlefield and Team Fortress than between this thing and Team Fortress 2...
That's like saying hey, Battlefield Heroes isn't clearly inspired by Battlefield (yes, it's EA, they own it all, so it's FINE and COOL for them to do) because it's in third person and has some different classes, vehicles and other aspects... Hell, there are more differences between Battlefield Heroes and the standard Battlefield than there seem to be between Team Fortress 2 and this thing...
That said, if Valve's cool with it, I'm cool with it. I have a feeling they won't be though, who knows, maybe eventually they wanna dabble in micro-transaction games Battlefield Heroes style, and if others have already adapted Team Fortress 2 to the scheme before them, they won't be able to. If that's what this thing is at least, but it looks Asian, and it's an online FPS, so it probably does have such micro-transactions.
" @Brundage said:Who cares? It's the internet." of course its a rip off, that's what asians do. "I'm extremely offended, ban this guy now. "
If it's South Korean they probably wont ever know, find out, or give a damn.
Besides, who really, really gives a damn if it's a ripoff? Everythings a ripoff, it's how good ideas spread. No need to be offended for somebody else, if Valve want to be offended i'm sure you'll hear about it.
Is that thing running on the source engine? Some of that stuff looks and sounds almost too similar to TF2. Even down to the shape and size of the red rectangles that appear around you depending on where you get shot. But it is a pretty damn awesome concept for a multi-player shooter.
" True. There was also that game Toy Commander for the Dreamcast. "Well there was Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Harley's Humongous Adventure on SNES, the Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers games...
But people had been making huge world maps for first person shooters before Padman too. Padman were just really detailed and interesting ones partially funded from that magazine company that had coconut monkey (forget who it was, PC sister magazine of Game Players)

Explain one way that's bad for us, the consumers.
Korean web portal DC News did a phone interview with the publisher. "Debating (as to if it's a rip off or not) is like having blind men touching an elephant and describing what it looks like," said SK iMedia. "We will reveal the gameplay soon. Other than that, we have no comment at this time."

" The ONLY thing that remotely resembles TF2 is the colour pallate. Aside from that it seams more like Army men with anime characters. "And the minigun model and grenade models are exactly the same, the music style is very similar, the shading style is very similar, the various aspects of the apparent classes are very similar, the presentation of the game in a trailer is similar.
Yea, just those things.
I don't see how a shooter with action figures that come to life is at all like team fortress 2. Maybe you're missing the point here.

here a couple :
1. We get bad games
2. We get no good ideas for games
3. The market comes flooded with other rip offs each as shit as each other
Thats why its bad
