I was going to buy it in the next steam sale for my mac (not alot of quality games for the mac after all), so this is a great suprise!

There are an excessive number of people in this thread with bad taste in video games. Team Fortress 2 is excellent. Go and play it for free.

Really enjoyed it on the xbox 360. Played for about an hour on my mac. It was okay. Swapping weapons is a pain, and I wasn't having particular fun watching my team getting their arse handed to them repeatedly. 

This is an outrage to people who bought the game! I paid $2.49 in a sale almost two years ago and I've spent well over 100 hours in the game and now it's free? I'm boycotting Valve forever!   ...or something like that. I'm sure I'll find someone saying something that stupid if I head on over to the Steam forums.

had the xbox verison. never bought the pc will now download it

They're everywhere already. Just go to the 'Free 2 Play' trailer Value posted on YouTube. 50% dislikes from people demanding refunds from a game 'they haven't played in years because of hats'. And people wonder why PC gaming is dying. The fanboy douchebags are rejecting systems that support PC gaming and are being petty assholes about everything. The more people who play TF2, the better. And if you don't like hats, then vote with your wallet and don't buy/trade them God damn it. And I'm going to buy three hats. Awesome contribution as always... Anyway, was a bit worried when I read the news, concerned over what micro-transactions might be brought in but the free/premium account seems pretty fair. I guess it's not that big a deal, they pretty much give the game away during the sales and it is approaching four years of age.
