It has been years since it was announced. The first launch trailer for the game was shown back before the 360 launched.

yeah i say wait for reviews.. commercial looks fun but not amazing... it looks like it had as much "crime craft" in it as it did "GTA"... and in GTA4 I didn't play the online for a reason, single player was much better, so i have a feeling that even if this game plays well, i will just be saying "oh man i wish they had made a single player game"... also is there a monthly fee? if so PASS

Don't worry, there won't be a monthly fee, as stated by the game site's FAQ.

Of course it's GTA MMO, why is that a bad thing?  I know before GTA4 came out lots of people were asking for just such a game.  Anyway, this looks pretty cool, I think.  And it has "/dance" so automatically it gets bonus points from me.

Where are the civilian's(npc's)? 
 
Aargh! I need more depth than MMORPG's can offer. Plus I need an ending to a game, otherwise it sucks up way too much of my allocated time I call; "my gaming time." 
I simply no longer have a place in my heart for MMORPG's. 
 
Hmmm... I may break this statement with Star wars: TOR as they're claiming that the story telling side of it is lot's better, but my getting it is going to depend on the general oppinion of it when it has been out for like 2 months.

looks like it has the diversity of Saints Row with the style GTA IV...
not to mention the amazing persistent world online gameplay...
and if the soundtrack is anything like the song in this video, it'll rival stuff like the soundtrack from Jet Set Radio.
