Really appreciate you all putting this together! On a slight aside, I can't help but enjoy the lack of corporate propaganda—although State mandated propaganda is certainly no better... Regardless, it's nice to not see MegaCorp. soft drink ads everywhere. Big thanks to Drew for letting us in on his travels! :)

I started listening to the Bombcast almost a year or two ago and have since began watching and reading the occasional quick look or article but it's this video that pushed me over to finally get that membership I've been thinking about. I'm a history buff and have always been fascinated by North Korea for the trip back in time aspect that it gives, it was awesome getting someones first hand account. Also the documentary Drew mentions about the American defector is pretty good, I would also recommend the Vice guide to N. Korea.

Excellent stuff, I love your video game coverage but its the personal outside games stuff that makes this site unique. Thank you Drew for sharing your story and thank you GB for having a place for it!

New to the premium side of things, but this is hands-down the most interesting subscriber vid I've found so far, made more so by the fact that it's almost entirely unrelated to them new fangled vidya games.

Just watched this is my Subscriber archive binge. This has to be the most fascinating thing I've seen on the site. North Korea is an odd, mysterious place.

Holy shit, this is amazing. I would have gotten a subscription sooner if I knew I could see this.

Drew took some amazing photos--especially the night shots--and hearing him talk about the trip is fascinating; I wish this had been longer! I loved seeing the propaganda art especially--you can definitely see the Russian influence, and I'd love to be able to check some of that out up close.

Also why would you make your poor traffic ladies wear heels. :c

And, damn, Drew has a lovely smile.

So glad I can finally watch this. One of the most fascinating, interesting videos I've watched in a while. Very awesome. And those photos are rather incredible! Almost makes me want to go on vacation there, but it's... all so weird...

Finally saw this as well. Some clarifications @drewbert

• Shoes are removed on the plane because heels rip apart the rubber safety chute and life boats.
• Flat mountain tops are natural, the landform is called "Table". It comes in different sizes and scales and are created when a harder rock layer "protects" and slows the erosion of the layers underneath it. If this is the case in North Korea is hard to say. But it could as well be natural. Some images of this would have been nice :)
