FUEL Trailer

Think I'm a little more excited for DIRT 2. Dunno where this one fits in between GRID and DIRT.

Me too Dave. Even more so I wish there was another Colin McRae rally game. DIRT has rally yeah but it's just not the same for me.

I don't really get as much of a sense of speed as I do when I play burnout or pure... but then again I am watching a streaming video on my computer instead of actually playing the game.  It could just be me

Seems to me like it's either emo music (I know it's not really emo, but you know what I mean) or gangsta music when it comes to racing games. After all, those are the two biggest music genres with teen males. As for the game itself, I'm excited to see how big it will be. It promises to have a crazy big world and if they manage to fill it up, I'm interested.

Yeah, i pretty much disagree with everybody who's posted so far, 'cept the dude(or chick) above me. I am way more excited for this then Dirt 2. don't get me wrong Dirt 2 looks cool and all, but it has to stretch way beyond what the first one did to catch my interest enough to pay full price for it, where as i'm already looking forward to Fuel. the off road open world aspect is something i think codemasters will nail.. hopefully

I want this game to be good, but I'm just not feelin' it. 

Ah... It looks so janky and shoddy in videos I can't help but think it'll end up being a spectacular debacle, which would be a shame since it's got some nice ideas going for it. For one thing, a multiplayer mode inspired by Test Drive Unlimited, where you just drive around in the world and it's automatically populated by other players messing about nearby. Think a UK Playstation magazine gave it an 8/10, so I'm still holding onto hope that it won't be a mess. One thing's for sure though, the soundtrack will be shit. Sound overall doesn't seem like this game's forte...

Dirt 2 will certainly be of high quality, but the one thing they need to fix for me to even consider being excited about it is the horrendous physics. Dude says they've improved it, but have they improved it enough? I was honestly disgusted by the way GRID handled.

Did someone break the formatting toolbar or is it just me?

MotorStorm looks much more smooth. But the game isnt finished to i guess you cant judge it fully by this video alone

Slightly off topic, but I some comments in this post show exactly how overly used the word "emo" is and how often people have absolutely no idea what it means, especially when it comes to music.

ill fitting music aside I'd say this looks like it has some definite potential.

So, a song has a few lines about how they feel and it becomes emo now? Really? By this logic just about every ballad or... rock song ever is emo.

You can guarantee I'll be muting the music in this game.  Just like I did in Burnout: Paradise.

Fuck! I really want to enjoy your game, Fuel, but if you keep putting shitty (I didn't say it!) music in all your trailers, I will cease to care! Goddammit, it is grating on my ears. I am going to import some more CD's onto my 360 so when I play this I have my own playlist, thankyouverymuch.

I dunno if it is just me, but the way the vehicles turned looked really stiff.  You can especially see it with the motorcycles.

However, I really do hope this turns out to be a good game.  Good racing games are never a bad thing.

Doesn't look all that promising to me from what I've seen.

Box art is nice though.

So, what's with the random cropping around the corners too?  I hope it doesn't play like a fisheye camera following the action.  Also, I have to agree that the music was horribly grating.

whats up with the emo music lol, really turned me off. Framerate looks horrid although it is streaming you can really tell that it got framefreezing.

Fuel hates pretty things - damn emo game

Some of the Game modes sound interesting enough.

Looks somewhat assy. Well that's what Gamefly's for I guess.

Looks like a desert burnout just not as fun... Also if fuel is such a precious commodity how can they spare it to run that mother** of a helicopter to transport cars to the races...

The gameplay and races seem kind of dull... but I might pick it up on some steam sale just for the insanely huge map.

Every place I see this trailer posted that has a comment box, it's chock full of folks expressing annoyance at the music, with just a little bit of discussion over the actual game. Now that I've gotten that off my chest:

God damnit Codemasters! You've used this god awful emo rock song in two trailers now!

Framerate seems pretty choppy to me. Also, music is douchey.

About the music, one of the trailers (and the official website) use a song by U.N.K.L.E. which doesn't sound emo at all. They're actually a really awesome band and they've worked with a lot of other musicians like Thom Yorke from Radiohead in the past. If you've ever heard the song "Rabbit in your Headlights", that was them, and if you haven't heard it, you should go check it out because its amazing.

With that said, I have hopes that there will at least be a few other good tracks in the game also. The Burnout series has the same problem, but even those games have at least a few decent tracks.

The game itself looks great. It may end up with a few flaws, but I have a feeling I'll be able to overlook them. I can see myself getting pretty absorbed in the game world. Maybe setup a 20 minute race and listen to a Godspeed! You Black Emperor track. : )

This trailer completely fails by not having Metallica.

Has that Carmageddon feel too it.

Would much rather have a Smuggler's Run 3.
