Edited by Shakey1245

Some Saturn nostalgia in time for Christmas. Nice.

No part 1?

You really wanna watch Jeff play Pitfall?

Posted by LevelUpAdrian

NOTHING STARTS THE NOSTALGIAFEST. NOT EVEN PART ONE.

Posted by Mijati

You can watch the archive on Justin.Tv if you really want to see it before it fully goes up here.

Posted by Bollard

Was this what was 9on J.tv on Thursday? Wondered what that stream was but couldn't find the title.

Thanks Drew for giving us a sweet Christmas present.

Now go home, and have a great Christmas ^_^

Oh god, I played so much Die Hard Arcade at my local peter piper pizza, when I was a kid.

Part one is here ====== http://www.giantbomb.com/giant-bomb-holiday-nostalgiafest-2011-part-01/17-5466/

I had a Saturn... and i loved it, probably one of my favourite consoles of all time and much under appreciated by many many people... It had some of the greatest games of all time on it...

Unfortunately, that was not seen here, as Jeff didn't play any of them, and instead played a bunch of very forgettable rubbish... It's no wonder he never saw the beauty of the Saturn if this was the collection of games he had for it!

RIP Ryan Davis

I missed this, but thank god for those archives! Will watch! I loved the SNES 4 part crazy-fest, and this should be even better!

Edited by Death_Burnout

This was great! it totally made my Christmas just like the last one of these you did. The only thing it was missing was Jeff putting his games away whilst sad Christmas music is playing, and Vinny going mad with the TriCaster setting Jeff on fire...But i don't want to cry like that ever again so. I'm glad.

I hope this becomes an annual thing, I guess 2 counts as annual right? but i can't remember if the last one was '09 or '10

You should have played Enemy Zero ):

Ross is boss!

Edited by MeatSim

Ross is gonna make sure Giant Bomb's teeth are real clean for the camera.

Posted by SpunkyHePanda

Oh God, is Ross dying? Ask for that Mario Kart 64 back, man!

Man, that talk about the Crazy Taxi soundtrack really took me back, even if they didn't remember that it was Bad Religion on there as well as The Offspring. I think that was the first time I ever heard Bad Religion, and they're probably my favorite band.

Aww... no sad, nostalgic Jeff with holiday music to play the stream out? I am disappoint.

In the Off-World Interceptor Extreme cutscene is that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister from HBO Game of Thrones) at 1hour 27minutes in?

Not according to IMDB, but now I can't unsee it!

Not as good as last year's, but still fun.

Sad, nostalgic, suicidal Jeff Gerstmann should be a Whiskey Media tradition every year!

Wow, big ups to Ross from Virginia!

Posted by FunnerGod

Is Die Hard Arcade part of the official Die Hard canon?

Posted by pwnmachine

IMO it was kinda a dick move for Ryan to open all those unopened games...

Agreed.

Panzer Dragoon, all the Capcom fighters, Virtua Fighter 1 and 2, Virtua Cop, Guardian frickin' Heroes, Radiant Silvergun... I even played Discworld 1 on it. The Saturn was my last console until very late in the PS2 cycle, and it served me well. Luckily Sega has finally started remaking some of that stuff. The XBLA port of Guardian Heroes is pretty cool, for instance.

"dick move" and "Ryan" go together like peanut butter and chocolate.

I wonder if the Giant Bomb guys are going to take the plunge and just fully mine the depths of Mame.

Like an Atari 2600 game, it just takes some imagination to enjoy. Just picture Jeff hunched over a PC playing The Old Republic to the level cap through the whole holiday break, with Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time is Here" playing over it. Laugh and/or cry to you heart's content!

Ross rocked that shit.

Edited by csl316

Oh, In the Hunt was fucking awesome.

Edit: Ok, I just popped in my old copy and it's STILL fucking awesome.

Posted by AlKusanagi

I was looking for a new dentist and now I know I should drive up the road to see baller Ross.

Posted by Crocio

Oh wow, they're drinking good Ukrainian Kvass!

Posted by Wes899

Eisenhorn is pretty good.

Posted by DT9k

Subtitles are the only way you could localize Panzer Dragoon because all the voice work is in a made-up fantasy language.

Posted by ArbitraryWater

As someone fairly ignorant of the Sega Saturn catalog in general, this stream made it look only slightly better than the Sega CD. This was obviously unintentional, and there were obviously Saturn games worth playing, but I feel like the only Saturn game they played that can be considered any kind of good is Panzer Dragoon II.

So I ask: What were the actual great Saturn games that came out in the US? I understand that the console is an importing gold mine, but I'm having trouble figuring out what the standout titles were domestically.

Total ninja mail bag segment.

Thanks for the Patrickness.
