Loving' this stuff. Probably ties with Load Our Last Souls for my second favorite feature.
First being Unprofessional Fridays. But this is great. It's all great.
Money well spent.

Glad you guys are enjoying this stuff. Now I just need to start poking around for something to do next week after they kill this dragon. If we start a new campaign, I'm going to do my best to try and make it a fair bit harder for these guys in any given combat.

Dude, spoilers!

Really though, this feature is great, especially now that Brad, Drew and Vinny are getting more comfortable with the rules and everything.

My suggestion regarding the final few minutes of discussion about how to expand this feature is don't. It's amazing as is and adding a chat feature will slow it down and reduce the amount of fun banter available. Giant Bomb's best videos are always when it's just the guys doing dumb stuff. Please keep it that way!

@rorie Maybe this is more trouble than it's worth, but is there any way for the players to covertly take actions without the rest of the party knowing? It seems tough to act like your character doesn't know something that you've heard said across the table, and I'm wondering what the reactions would've been like if nobody knew what Brad's character was up to...

I don't care if you continue with Pathfinder or go on to another game, but whatever you do, please don't make a chat character. It won't work well, it would take forever and it would definitely just get annoying pretty damn fast.

A community made campaign would be okay, though.

Amazing video guys. Love the chat idea, just make it so someone makes 3-5 different/funny reactions in the poll and people pick one, just to keep it fast and simple. I think it would be better if it was a new Character, preferably a foreigner (not canadian). A silent weird guy, who only responds and reacts through dumb stuff from the chat's polls. I think it wouldn't be that slow. Please keep this up, whichever scenario or game. The open community campaign idea is also great. I trustgiantbomb members to create neat stuff, they always do, as do you guys too! Thank you Mr. Rorie for all your hard work!

Who needs TV when you have giantbomb.com?

The sheer amount of content produced by these guys on a weekly basis is staggering.

I honestly have a hard time keeping up with it, but man do I love the smiles and laughs it brings me.

Giant Bomb, alongside a couple of supplementary YouTube channels, has completely replaced my TV usage.

Other than Parks and Rec, I'm in the same boat. Giant Bomb even replaced Netflix.

Features like this help bring to fruition my dream of Giant Bomb being less a video game website and more just a general awesome factory.

YES. The in person interactions ABSOLUTELY make this thing one of the best pieces of content GB has. As much as I like audience interaction, we're here for the most part because watching Vinny, Dave, Drew, Ian, Brad, and Rorie interact in person in this context is delightful, and not so much (and maybe this is presumptuous) to see the actual "quest" play out. I feel like creating a character whose choices are inherently limited because they need to be pre-determined before any choice even gets made, and who has no in person presence, wouldn't do anything but slow it down.

In short, the fun here comes from the constant attempts at subverting the rules by Vinny and Dave, from Brad's ridiculous conniving and Drew's huffing disdain for it, and I think it's strongest if kept that way. And again, this is by far one of the best things Giant-Bomb has made thus far, so thank you guys for putting out so much superbly entertaining content. I don't know how I'd get any work done without it.

I wonder, though, if you wanted to have the community interact in some way, you could add in certain events that could be determined by poll. Not so large a decision as a Choose Your Own Adventure type thing, but little choices that affect the adventure without slowing down the combat with a ChatMonster or ChatHero.

Chat player is a bad idea. Maybe if chat was a single monster in the dungeon that could work.

@rorie: people who want to, should remake a lvl2 character using more interesting classes for the next quest. Also, detect magic doesn't tell you what an item does. Drew was right, you need to do a knowledge check for that

Aside from that great content, keep going.

This is never not great, though I wouldn't mind if they started getting into the core rulebook with some of the other classes. VBomb seems like he should be a barbarian instead of just a vanilla fighter.

I guess it all depends on what you're going for. Combat can be fine if that's what the group enjoys, but I find that both as a player and a DM, combat can end up being very boring, very tedious and overall just detracting from the experience. Killing two goblins takes over thirty minutes and that's ridiculous. It's just not my idea of fun.

In most of my Dark Heresy(which maybe Vinny would be interested in checking out?) games I've just completely removed most combat rolls. You can wing it through narrative and still make it interesting for those involved without checking all sorts of modifiers and ranges and blah blah blah

The more I watch this, the more I wonder if 4e might be better suited for this group.

I've seen and read enough of Pathfinder to realize it is not for me or the group I play with. If we had started with Pathfinder/3.5, it might have been a different story. But I have come to appreciate what WOTC tried to do with 4e and I think it works pretty well for a casual roleplaying experience.

Strength modifier gets added on to melee damage, guys. 1.5 strength modifier for two-handing a weapon.

VBomb should be doing a lot more damage each time he hits.

@artelinarose: If it takes your group 30 minutes to kill two goblins, you're doing something wrong.

I always found the combat in DH to be very fast and easy to understand since it's just a single roll to hit or miss. If you're playing DH without combat, why even use the system? Use Dogs in the Vineyard or some other narrative system.
