I'm usually a fan of the cheesy as hell Sonic rock theme songs. 
 But goddamn, this one just made me sad. Horrible song.

I remember the devs of Sonic Unleashed saying that the "speed levels" could't be a game in and of themselves. It would take too many resources, so we just made it play like a crappy hack-and-slash action game. I'm paraphrasing a bit.

I refuse to buy this because of that banshee music.

All things considered, beats Dark Knight and Unleashed.

This could be fun, i mean the speed levels from sonic unleashed were pretty cool and if they focused solely on that like they seem to be they could make a pretty fast paced awesome game...but i still won't buy it cause i don't have a wii thankfully :)

As long as it doesnt have a BS overworld, then this might be the best sonic game in over a decade.  Thats not saying much...

Sonic was already ruined.  I think this is a step in the right direction.  This powerups system seems to be doing one thing right: Keeping the momentum.  Sonic doesn't seem to actually ever STOP when using the powers.
 
That said, that song makes me want to stab something.

It's the good part of sonic unleashed, with extra mechanics based on those different coloured chao. Bought.

Even though I hate the idea of chao, at least these things have gameplay effects.

I think I enjoy the bad synth pop rock that's been in the last decade of sonic games more than the actual games.

So... this is the part of the PR cycle where they show the kinda-fun part... how long before they unveil the other half of the game that will invariably suck hard?

Gameplay looks as bad as ever, the developers (and most of the fanbase) need to realise that the games shouldn't just be about speed.  They need to bring back some of the adventuring elements from Sonic Adventure 1 and not just for crappy third-rate hub worlds.
 
Nothing but running and grinding between rails is not fun.
 
I also won't critisize the theme song directly.. But what does it have to do with Sonic?  I didn't like the crap-rock we had in the SA games or any of the others.  Look at the 3D Mario games which were able to updae their tunes along with the gameplay for modern times.
 
What is wrong with Sonic Team?  (and Dimps).  They badly need to be fired and replaced with a competent studio.

when are they gonna just release a sonic game that plays itself.  cause these on rails 3d platformers are getting old

I was waiting for video of this game after the Nintendo Power article, and now im even more stoked. I might have to buy my brother one version and buy myself the other. Just need to see video of the DS version. if i get both versions, DOUBLE HAT GET!

They need to get Crush 40 back, but other than that people really need to stop hating.
Seriously, Unleashed day parts were fun and this game is basically just that. It may not be groundbreaking, but I think if they keep to what I see here then this will actually be pretty good.

Just make Sonic 4. Stop every other shitty game you're making, and make Sonic 4. Then when you've made it, leave Sonic alone, and do something else.

Looks slightly better than the last couple of 3D Sonic games, I'm getting a kinda Sonic Heroes vibe from it, except if Sonic Heroes was made in the year 2010 with terrible music.
