Hey, this isn't a Persona game.  It isn't even a SMT game.
 
Worst of all, it looks awfully a lot like a generic JRPG.
 
As much as I like Atlus, I'm going to have to pass on this.

Ok I think I get it, there are two sets of heroes. One set from the "light world" and one from the "dark world". Am I close?

This looks like something that needs bad 90's style dubbing to truely be appreciated. Get the original American dubbers of La Blue Girl, Evangelion, and Oh! My Goddess in there and it'd be magical. Ah, I can see it now...

If even I, a person who will play any bottom of the barrel JRPG and get some enjoyment out of it, think that this looks boring and generic, then you know your game has a problem. But then again, it's being published by Atlus so it might turn out to be something great, even if the trailer shows no gameplay. Either way, I'll probably buy it (sad, I know).

What evidence is there that this is even a game?  There was no gameplay, none, zero, on display.  I am pretty sure I just watched a trailer for a generic fantasy anime.

There is nothing about this that looks appealing to someone like me.

Nice cutscenes, great character design.  Some gameplay would be nice, though if there are lots of fully animated cutscenes, that'll be great.
 
Would like to see some gameplay, but any JRPG will be greatly appreciated this generation.  Been sorely lacking for any good RPGs for a long time now.  Hope it turns out well though.  Atlus publishing it is already a sign of probably solid translation and hopefully a good game (They don't usually pick up many bad ones).  From what I've read, there are two seperate full stories (one for the light world and one for the dark world).  Supposed to be about 20-25ish hrs of gameplay per side, which is nice.
 
I don't get why the anime-haters even watched this video though.  Did the thumbnail not clue you in that this is not for you?

I ould never understand anime-based rpgs that basically just show you their intro scene which, more often than not, is the only anime cutscene in the entire game (save for perhaps a quick one at the end of the game). I suppose they're trying to appeal to the small market so obsessed with anime that they'll buy anything with even a hint of such cutscenes, but beyond that, who is going to buy a game based off of such a teaser?
 
My bet is that the answer, quite often, is that most of these games don't have any gameplay footage worth showing off in a teaser -- especially ones on the PSP. Call me jaded or pessimistic but I've got the feeling this one is no different, otherwise we'd be seeing more than just the cutscene that loads before the title screen. But maybe I'm wrong and this game will turn out to be fantastic! Just gonna hafta wait and see what the few critics who will actually play this think.
 
PS: To anyone who thinks it might be good because Atlus is publishing it, don't fool yourself; they've published plenty of weak titles, themselves (Operation Darkness and Baroque come to mind).

Cute (if rather standard) anime trailer, but it really told me nothing about the game.  I love a good JRPG as much as the next guy (who loves JRPGs), but I could have used some scenes or something of the game play.  Come on, Atlus, give me something to pique my interest.
