The resolving companion issue sounds like Mass Effect Loyalty missions. I'm digging the whole reputation system as opposed to people knowing instantly you're evil or good based on your karma

The old fallout games are pretty rad. However, let it be known that they're prohibitively hard at times!

Man I really really want Obsidian to pull through and create a worthy sequel to the originals, so that the fans can try to forget the atrocity that was 3.

If you can play F3 properly, then you dont need Companions. And if you can play good, than you dont need Stimpacks at all.

I think Brad is my favorite interviewer, Ryan is my favorite Mondays host, and Jeff and Vinny are the ones I like to hear from the podcast.

I never used companions either. Never liked having someone follow me in a RPG unless it's a party like in Dragon Age

Brad is awesome, he always looks so shy and uncomfortable during interviews. Plus the Bob Dole arm.

Atrocity?!  Despite its horrendous combat, F3 is a magnificent game and one of my favorites of this generation.

This game has been confirmed to have mostly the same combat, layout, interface, and quest structure as Fallout 3, so unless Tennmuerti's problem was...the voice acting, I think he's going to be extremely dissapointed.

Hey I really liked F3, but Bethesda just plain didn't "get" the humour of the Fallout series. It was a really good game; you either love or hate the gameplay system and how it differs from Classic Fallout. The writing, the feel of it all, was completely off. It felt like a post-apocalyptic game, just not a Fallout game.

Damn straight. I saved after every fight. You never know if suddenly you get a random encounter with Enclave dudes or Super Mutants earlier on, they get the jump on you, and critical hit you on the first shot.

Ah man, mini-gun critical hits would fuck you up! If the Classic Fallouts were Mac compatible I'd be playing 'em on the road all the time, but I just don't feel comfortable running parallels on a battery. =(

The first fallout's SPECIAL system could be easily exploited, by picking the right values you could blast through the game. The second however, had some impossible rolls and checks you had to pass some times, it could be brutal, especially in the beginning.
Also, dude, there are mac specific releases of fallout out there!

As somebody who loved the first two Fallouts, but hated Fallout 3, I have absolutely zero expectations for this game. I should go in expecting nothing instead of expecting a Fallout game. I think that was my mistake with 3.

And if you've already gone through those, they finally have Arcanum (which is the closest thing to Fallout since Fallout). The original "from the makers of Fallout" game. Obsidian wishes it was as imaginative as Troika.

Andvari is correct. I was referring in how F3 was relative to the originals.
My problems were not with interface or layout and not with the reuse of Oblivion's engine and i really don't give a shit about voice acting.
A non exhaustive short list: asinine and borderline retarded main quest storyline with so many holes you could drain the Atlantic in a few minutes, broken Karma stat, a plethora of bugs and issues, too easy enemies, butchering of lore, insane amount of inconsistencies and immersion braking stupidities (Megaton, cannibal raiders, leftover edible food supplies and unscavenged gear after 200 years, abundance of working computers, little lamplight, to name a very few),  the power armor being shit, Bethesda's inability to write good dialogue,  the "lulz i shoot dudes heads off and swear a lot" type of humor, dumbed down SPECIAL system, magic stat increasing gear.
Don't get me wrong, F3 was a decent game, it was just a shit Fallout.

Obsidian seem to be fixing some of these issues at least, if in addition to what they have already said the main storyline can be good and npc dialogue/side quests made interesting/good then it might actually be a decent Fallout game. I have my reservations, but maybe, just maybe.
