We had the power go out around 2 am (several transformers exploded) right when I was in the middle of doing some computer work.  It didn't come back until I left for school around 10 am.

It's been pretty crazy here as well (also northern CA), though power remains--in excess in fact, thanks to lightning. I'd be crushed to pick up Uncharted 2 today, only to have the power go out.
