I mean... How does such a video find its way in front of someone who is actually trying to choose between these systems? And this hypothetical person knows that there are both DSi and 3DS systems already but doesn't know that the difference is 3D?

Pretty informative. Obviously anyone who frequents this site is not part of the target audience, so I don't see why so many people are getting butt-hurt in the comments.

Also I'm laughing at people complaining about quality of video when GB frequently posts unedited video on the site.

Because that's totally the same as a massive multi-billion dollar corporation releasing a hastily created and poorly produced video to combat potential consumer confusion and loss of sales caused by their own marketing department's ineptitude.

@FunkasaurasRex: Yes actually it is, the video was effective and got across what it wanted to get across. The fact that it could have been done "more professionally" is nitpicking and ridiculous especially when the intended audience is not people who frequent this site. No one viewing such an ad has any right to a more professionally done video, likewise, Nintendo has no obligation to spend more money than it thinks necessary to produce such a video. Such shallow consumption of video content is ridiculous.

Just to clarify, I'm not against the way GB makes videos, it too is fairly effective in what it sets out to do. I just find it hilarious that people are complaining about the quality of this ad, when it is clearly not meant for them and the ad does just an effective job as GB's I Love Mondays in what they respectively set out to do.

Who is this video even for? I mean, quality of recording issues completely aside, I get it if they are sending this out to some retailers or non-enthisiast press for Moms and Dads to check out before the holiday season. But how does this video even make it to a place like Giant Bomb?

I hope this video is an indication that Nintendo realizes that they've made some major mistakes in the way they've been marketing their latest products. I'm not sure that a hastily thrown together video like this is an actual solution to that problem, but it's at least a recognition of the consumer confusion out there around the 3DS and Wii U.

I agree that the Nintendo video isn't for us regardless of production quality, but you can't compare these marketing videos to Giant Bomb's content at all - they serve completely different purposes and have zero bearing with each other.

I mean you're not even remotely doing an apples to apples comparison, and not even a legitimate apples and oranges comparison. You're doing the equivalent of comparing apples to a shovel.
