Looks awesome! If SNK just follows Street Fighter 4's example on this, I'm in. I love Samurai Showdown...

Actually looks like it might be alright to me, but who the hell designed that trailer? The characters block half the screen.

3D Samurai Showdown? Dude!! This is so awesome, now all I need is a new Last Blade. Fighting games truly are making a comback!

looks quite meh in my opinion, very bland (which the 2d shodowns never were), and thats a weird cast too... oh well, we'll see.

Trying to be Bushido Blade or Soul Calibur or some shit? Don't go 3D SNK! Damnit..

I am not impressed. Somehow the 2D (KOF) or semi-2D (SFIV) seems way more appealing. I would love a samurai showdown with HD sprites, though.

How come SNK can't make original 3D games. Taking establish 2D franchise into 3D is not the way to go.

SNK is like Atlus for me. I buy the games to support them.

Ugh, 3D SNK fighter.  There should be a mandate that forces them to only make hi res 2d fighters.  And a 3D SamSho without Shiki?  Blasphemy

That's a 360 game? Looks like a Wii game to me. Anyway, since it is not The Last Blade 3 on the KoF12 engine, me no care.

Glad that Wan Fu is in the game as he was one of my favorites in the games he was in. This did bring back a lot of memories on how much I hated a lot of the characters I completely forgot about until they were shown in this trailer. Thanks Giant Bomb :P.

Definitely give it a try whenever my 360 gets back from repairland.

Out of curiosity, which came first?  Samurai Shodown or Tekken?

Hanzo - Raven (New to Tekken 5)

Rimururo - Ling Xiaoyu (Loosely)

Really effective video! The great 2D art/boring 3D models have convinced me: I'm not buying this game.

Because last 3d Samurai Showdown turned out so great.

Samurai Shodown is older than Tekken, by several years.

The 3D game on the old PS was quite good actually, it had some great characters and a fun story mode.  It was similar to Street Fighter EX and Rival Schools, 2.5D.  I never got to play the short-lived SNK 3D whatsit 64 arcade games, and those were never ported to anything.

While going 3D with the series isn't where I'd like them to go, Samsho is still the only fighting series I give a damn about.

The graphics and characters are nowhere near soul caliber which i see as being direct competition to this, i got fed up of the sword stabbing sound effect half way through the trailer.

Ugh- would raher see a sweet 2d update than a muddy 3d one.

@chartor i know its 3 years too late but no... Sam Sho came before the first Tekken and the characters you mentioned are not based on any Tekken characters at all considering that jin and xiaoyu were in tekken 3 and raven in 5 and the sam sho caharacters you're referring to either were introduced way before or close to the release of Tekken 3.
