Oh hell yeah! The ingame graphics and animations really look like a big step up from Dragon Age 1.
 
And EA giving away 'Special Editions' as the regular day 1 print makes it all the sweeter.

Man, I do love the original Dragon Age to bits, but this looks pretty epic. Kind of getting a Dragon Age meets Jade Empire vibe. Hope it's fun!

Two days after my b-day! Yippee!

Next game post-Fable 3 I'm truly excited for! Speaking of which, that should be done installing...

Graphic wise looks the same despite their claims. But that's fine by me, didn't mind graphics in DA:O and on PC mods made the game look really good anyway. I'm still worried about the combat though. I really want my tactical view and pause and play gameplay. ;(

this is a holiday release. 

I feel like I'm playing nothing but BioWare games. I've been playing Mass Effect 2 since I bought it two months ago, started playing Dragon Age: Origins again and I'm thinking about getting Jade Empire. And I'll probably play Dragon Age II. That's a boat load of BioWare.

I've played a demo at a consumer show and I would seriously advise cautious optimism on this one, speaking as a huge Dragon Age 1 fan.  
 
I think the change in art direction is going to upset as many people as it pleases. The somewhat-subdued low fantasy vibe of DA1 has been thrown out and replaced with some pretty OTT cartoon violence. The demo opened with Hawke's family - barely-armed refugees - slaughtering dozens upon dozens of darkspawn seemingly effortlessly. There's much more focus on taking down huge groups of enemies at once with silly area-of-effect attacks: the warrior has the ability to teleport-charge into groups of enemies causing them all to explode in a shower of blood; the rogue can do a ninja-smoke vanish attack which causes torsos to blow up. The Darkspawn haven't just been redesigned: they are now made of paper maché and jam. 
 
I desperately want it to be good, but the cynic in me sees EA's marketing department all over it. Flemeth in particular has had a hilarious redesign for her cameo (see this trailer - 00:32) - she now wears a tiara, feathers, a giant studded leather collar and corset combo, and thigh-high metal boots. No kidding.

Looks better then I expected, hoping the combat is ace too!
 
I can still play a female heroine and change my hair/looks right?

 Bioware have never let me down even once. I have confidence in their ability produce good games and make great design decisions. 
Until they blatantly fuck up video-games twice they will continue to have my full support.    

Loved and love Dragon Age: Origins. But then there's always this thing about sequels, they tend to be a bit... underwhelming, and unable to live up to expectations. But I'm at least psyched that DA2 is coming, and with a bit of luck, it's going to be just, if not more, awesome as the first game.

I get a real Jades empire feel from this and i do not know why.
