Sony NGP Concept Video

Look... I like the promise of the PSP2 or NGP or whatever the hell it's called. But this is a bad, bad ad, designed by the same folks who make IKEA ads or phone ads. I don't need to see a bunch of teenagers do impossible, CGI things - just show me how the damn thing works, show me what a game will look like on the thing, and give me a list of its features. I have little patience for all this "trippy" "cool" advertising, dreamed up by 40 to 50 year old folks with no real understanding of the target demographic. I'm not buying a car or furniture - I'm buying a damn portable video game console.

Pretty surprised that Sony went with a touch screen instead of a 3D display.

That reminded me of that fake Playstation 9, or whatever, trailer from a few years ago.  In fact, I'll bet that was their inspiration.  Still I'm at least interested in Sony's handheld now, but I bet it'll be just as expensive as a PS3 if not more.

Yeah that trailer sucked but... It is for japanese audiences... wait till the device is shown in the states... Sony knows how to make good advertisement.

This is too high concept for me.

Horrible video. I still have my original launch PSP and if it wasn't for the God of War games, would probably have not played it since about a week after getting it. I don't see myself getting this when it's released. Part due to the almost certain extreme price point, and I don't want another thing collecting dust. Maybe if my PSP ever gets use and dies, but that would require backwards compatibility, and I don't think that's been discussed.
