    This morning, the WWE Games Facebook page announced a new WWE video game.  The title is WWE '12 and the cover boy is Randy Orton.  Er... that's about all the details right now.  This trailer is just Randy being Randy. 

     
     

     
    But anyway, I think the bigger (and I use the term lightly) story is that the game no longer is carrying the SmackDown vs. RAW moniker, and seems to be alluding to some major changes in gameplay.  Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's certainly how it sounds.

    And we officially have a page for WWE '12. I have to be honest when I saw that in the wiki queue I didn't believe that was the actual title for the game. Take that for what it is worth....

    It's weird that they seem to have gone the EA Sports route and just started putting the name of the promotion plus a number. 
    IE, Madden 10,  NHL 12.  I'm not sure if it makes the title easier to say, but it sure does make it stupider to look at...

    About goddamn time. Now, make the game FUN, and I'll buy. 
    If it wasn't for the MS, Sony, Wii logos at the end, I would've guessed it's a Randy Orton DVD. That's how misleading the trailer is. It could be anything!

    Indeed, when I first saw the video pop up on the WWE Games page on Facebook, I wasn't even sure it was FOR a game until the very very end.  I'm still not sure.

    Fuuuuuck! Is that the Yuke's logo at the end?  Meh.  I thought they might actually change the direction of the series considering All Stars was so much better than SVR.  Yuke's will churn out more garbage.

    While I haven't been into watching wrestling for a long time, I must admit I still quite enjoy playing the games every now and again with some friends, and just completely creating our own custom guys. 
    But the series badly needs an overhaul.. new engine, new creation modes, better fighting system and the return of a customisable manager mode. 
     
    Yearly sports games often suck, but this is the only one I've seen that's actually gotten worse each year.
