So...over the past week I've been going to local Gamestops and INTENTIONALLY buying the worst cheapest games they have for sale. I've only been buying 360 games, and my spending limit is $5 per game, cause even though I know I'm buying crap, I'm not gonna buy expensive crap, even I have limits. Why am I doing this? I have no idea, other than the fact that I find it hilarious to see if I can get the worst game collection out there. Over the past week, I've bought 21 360 games, and a couple of actual good games snuck in there as well.

    Alone in the Dark

    Amped 3

    Beowulf: the Game

    Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

    Conan

    Crackdown

    Dark Sector

    Don King Prizefighter

    Indianapolis 500 Evolution

    Jumper: Griffin's Story

    Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

    Project Sylpheed

    Pure

    Quantum of Solace

    Sega Superstars Tennis

    Space Chimps

    Stranglehold

    The Outfit

    Too Human

    Two Worlds

    Vampire Rain

Any other suggestions for awful games I should look into? And does ANYBODY else intentionally buy bad games?

I feel like there are too many games on your list that are actually somewhat-to-pretty fun (Amped 3, Crackdown, Dark Sector, Pure, Quantum of Solace, Sega Superstars Tennis, Stranglehold and Too Human) . If you can find a copy of Pimp My Ride (which I happen to own, woo), then definitely get that. It's pretty rare, though, so you might have a hard time finding it.

    Other games to consider:

I might buy a bad game on occasion, but it really depends on what kind of bad it is.

Yeah, I fully admit there's some good games in there. Not sure if I'm willing to cosign on Dark Sector or Too Human yet, but I'll agree with the rest of those. I've yet to play all of the games that I've bought, but so far Beowulf is clearly the worst of the bunch, worse than Vampire Rain.

Pimp My Ride was over the $5 limit, Sonic 06 was something RIDICULOUS like $15, which is a shame cause I really wanted that one, and the closest LSL is over 50 miles away. I'll have to look into bomberman and Hour of Victory though.

I've considered using GameFly to rent the biggest piles of shit available. Like, the shovelware titles that nobody's even heard of. I totally understand that fascination.

I understand subjective opinion and all that but this is something that I cannot fathom. I only played the demo, but every last thing about it was really, really bad. Not just in the "I don't like the story or graphics" bad, I mean the "controls suck, levels are just arenas, enemies are stupid, graphics are glitchy, objectives are stupid" kind of suck.

But to each his own, I guess. What redeeming factors did you find in this game?

I admit I've been tempted to play Duke Nukem Forever mostly because I was too young to play the series when it was originally popular, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

I wish someone would pull a Black Mesa on a game like Daikatana. Instead of updating a good game like Half-Life, make a fan remake of an awful game instead so that it's no longer awful, sew the plot holes, fix the combat, restore it to what it should have been. I don't know if someone would be able to rope a team into fixing something deeply flawed into a labor of love like that on a game (or comic book, or novel, or even a movie) that wasn't originally good, but I can dream.

@fazzle: My vote is Bulletwitch. Its a game that a bunch of the concepts in the game are actually REALLY cool but the right budget and development team just wasn't behind it. Its fun enough if you can actually find a copy as its actually pretty hard to find now days.

@medacris: Dude, if your interested in Duke go play Duke 3D on XBLA its a fine enough port and its a way better game than DNF and it is also a much better representation of the time period of shooters back then as well as the current pop culture of the times.

Relax, it was only a joke. The rest of those are not good games. It's probably also worth mentioning that I don't particularly like any of the Zelda games but I'd hardly say they're bad. It's just that using that particular game to mess with people is easy.

Ah, the internet. Whenever somebody makes a bad-game thread somewhere- it is BOUND to attract some wannabe troll going "oooh why don´t you buy sum of dem halo gamezzz or the - insert popular series here - game. That one´s sooo baaaaaad"

stupid, stupid people. Anyway, I think half the games you listed are nowhere near as bad as some of the crap that´s available. Go get Hour of Victory if you´re looking for crap. Or that steampunk western game that was half finished and released. What was that one called again?!

@BlatantNinja23: Now that I've had time to play (most) of them, Amped 3 and Crackdown are definitely the best of the bunch, and while I know that Pure is a technically good game, it's just not for me. But the biggest surprise so far has been how not-completely-shitty Quantum of Solace is.

Edit: Also I see a bunch of other people seem to like Stranglehold, but after 2 levels of that game, I never want to touch it again. I grew tired of it's one and only mechanic less than halfway through the first level. Does anything happen in this game to shake it up at all?

I actually really enjoyed Alpha Protocol....until I got to some escort mission where the guy I was escorting would constantly run right into 5 guys shooting at him and die instantly. After about 5 times straight of that happening I never even looked at that game on my Steam list again.

Crackdown is supposed to be pretty good, but a lot of the early reviews on the recent consoles were a lot more positive overall in the first couple years.

For X360, I want to say Turok is a prime really bad game. (if it were re-scored now it would probably get 2s). There are also some very long and unpleasant JRPGs that could help your collection (eternal sonata?). A few kinect games will probably be available at that price point soon too. Steel Battalion is probably essential.

So..I went and added to my bad games collection today. I tried to even things out a bit by buying an actual good game in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, but I also picked up:

    Stuntman Ignition

    NFL Head Coach 09

    Legendary

    Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

and perhaps the new crown jewel of my bad games collection.........Sonic the Hedgehog 06! It'll take alot to surpass Jumper Griffin's Story, but I think this game might just have what it takes.

Also, since this thread was posted way back when, I have also added Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Viking: Battle for Asgard, Lair, Stormrise, Naughty Bear, and Dark Void to the fold.

If you ever get Bomberman: Act Zero let me know if you want to play online. Its really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Well Turning point is one of the worst first person shooters ever, but legendary is just a mediocre shooter.
