Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am honored to be your host as we look back at the best community-created endeavors from the previous week. It was a whirlwind of news and content this week, and I think that is reflected in this edition of the Spotlight. However, let's jump into the newly formatted "News" section of the Spotlight to see what wonderful things the site, staff, and community have been up to recently.
Earlier in the week, Giant Bomb was temporarily read-only to allow the engineers some database migration work. Obviously, the site has reverted back to its original state, but if you notice any technical issues, features, or tools that are inaccessible to you, let out a yelp in the thread announcing the event.
If you are wondering about Arcade Pit not airing an episode during the week of 9/4 to 9/10, the feature took the week off and will be back soon!
For those of you that enjoy VTubers, there was a fun moment when Kson reacted to Jeff Gerstmann, Brad Shoemaker, and Ben Pack talking about Fallout 76. To add context, this was part of reaction stream as they were watching ''The Fall of 76'' by Internet Historian. That said, this image certainly messed with my brain:
Finally, for those of you that watch AEW, you might have noticed during All Out that the hard cam featured a person wearing a New Era Giant Bomb t-shirt at ringside. That person was Justin Vachon and he's actually a senior product designer for the site! If you don't follow him on Twitter, you should considering he provides fun updates on what the Red Ventures design team have planned for the site from time to time. Also, mad respect to him for repping the site!
A sincere thank you to the crew at @giantbomb. They took a beating over the last year and emerged with a completely new crew and an absolutely stellar slate of new content. I haven't been this engaged with the site in years.— Smatt got a steam deck! (@Smatt) September 8, 2022
it was a hell of a time! glad we were so visible lol 🥳 https://t.co/Ppz8HaAnrG— Justin Vachon (@megaberrycrunch) September 5, 2022
Jeff Grubb has been injecting a lot of Splatoon 3 content into the site and during the 09/09/2022 UPF you might have enjoyed him, Mike Minotti, and Dan playing the game. Jearum sure did because they made this work of art!
Inspired by the 39th edition of the Voicemail Dump Truck, the idea of Dan and Tam running a political campaign was made and jearum ran with that idea when they made this AMAZING poster!
While Dan was becoming increasingly miserable playing Sonic the Hedgehog, a request was made for a certain work of photoshop goodness and over on Twitter, Digital Logjam was the first to oblige.

The Giant Bomb wiki is a place for some really weird things. Some things that are "too cool for Wikipedia." For example, did you know that Midway put N64 Memory Pak readers on NFL Blitz arcade machines? Many thanks to @marino for remembering this weird one-off that is forever preserved in our database.
