    Overview

Featured in many Legend of Zelda games, Kakariko Village is the home to many Hyrulians and a site of many major events that Link encounters on his journeys. The village was built by the Sheikah race long ago and then it eventually expanded into an urban town.

    Appearances

Kakariko Village can first be seen in The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. The wise man Sahasrahla makes his home there, and Link seeks him out prior to the mission within the Eastern Palace Ruins.

In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Kakariko Village is at the foot of Death Mountain. When Link visits as a child, he can see that the village contains a graveyard run by Dampe, a windmill, a mysterious well, and many carpenters running about to complete renovations. As an adult, Link finds that many residents of the Castle Town have moved there. He then learns that the well is the home of the Lens of Truth, an item he needs to venture through the Shadow Temple.
