An article of clothing that rests on top of one's head.
Whether it's worn for protection or style, helmets appear in various game genres.
A knife is a commonly seen object in video games. Usually used for close quarters combat, or as a cutting tool.
A laser is a focused beam of light, invisible through the air without some other medium (such as smoke) to illuminate it. Lasers are often used in video games as part of a targeting system, or as an offensive weapon in their own right.
A "lighter" is a portable object commonly seen in some video game series. For example: Resident Evil and Silent Hill, where the atmosphere is dark and terrifying.
A storage utility usually used for items. In video games however, they have a different use: hiding.
A weapon.
Machine guns, generally, are heavier weapons with a rapid rate of fire. To quote the Quake manual, they "eat ammo like popcorn."
Magnum is a term for a pistol or rifle cartridge packed with extra gunpowder to make it significantly more powerful than a standard round. Guns which have been designed to fire this ammunition often share the Magnum label.
A transport trolley locked on a rail. Often used to bring coal and other mined materials from inside mines to the surface.

Mushroom is the familiar term used to describe a gilled fungus which may or may not bear a stem. Mushrooms are the "fruit" of spore bearing fungi.
A nuclear bomb is a device made up of fissionable materials (ie Uranium) and standard explosives. It creates a nuclear chain reaction, which release large amounts of radiation and a shockwave.
Pressing a key on the keyboard causes a felt lined "hammer" to strike strings commonly made of steel.
An improvised explosive device that may or may not be remotely detonated. Most prominently used by Duke Nukem.
A pistol is a very basic hand-held side arm, usually used in case of low ammo or tricky situations. They have appeared in many types of games.
Power armor (also referred to as a powered exoskeleton) is a form of full-body armor, that uses electronics and micromachinery to enhance the wearer's performance.
A radiation suit is often used to shield a player's health from the deadly effects of various hazards.
Small portable audio device originally known as a "wireless", that receives signal from a radio tower. May emit static when monsters are nearby, or emit voices when a talk show host is on.
Rail tracks, which are also known as Train tracks, railway, or simply tracks, are the rails which guide trains. There are many types of tracks that are used for different types of trains around the world.
A red dot sight (also referred to as a scope) is a sight placed on firearms. The aiming reticule is represented as an illuminated red dot in the middle of the sight.
A revolver is a type of handgun that holds ammo in a revolving chamber. It normally houses six rounds, and in games is usually more powerful than standard handguns.
Any firearm meant to be held with two hands, a rifle is a video game object that appears in many combat related video games.
A rocket propelled grenade launcher. This weapon's main strength is its shaped charge warhead. It can penetrate up to 19 inches of armor if the warhead is in good condition.
Bags filled with sand. Often used for fortification in war zones or flooding.
As the name suggests, this is a shotgun whose barrel has been sawed off closer to the firing chamber to make it more portable. It has a much shorter range, but is easy to manoeuvre and is easy to conceal.
The ultimate weapon attachment that uses telescope optics to enlarge distant targets thus increasing your accuracy.
The most powerful weapon at short range. Effective against Zombies, Nazis, Demons, etc. Videogame shotguns tend to have exaggerated inaccuracy at long range- real life shotguns are still fairly accurate over a decent distance, while videogame shotguns rarely go more than fifteen feet before becoming completely ineffective.
Suppressors deafen the sound of a gunshot. Can be attached to most weapons.
The topmost bone in the human body, it contains the brain and the eyes, and is generally considered a good thing to keep intact.
