@rorie: Option #9: I am also a mutant - I have no wisdom teeth on the top & the ones on the bottom of my jaw grew in horizontally, so I'll never have them removed. Freaked out the dentist who spotted them in the X-rays a few years back.

I did recently have several other teeth pulled. Just went with local anaesthetic & no pain medication. Apart from some subsequent bleeding & headaches (blood pressure-related), it wasn't too bad. It felt like I had all the energy sucked out of me for a few weeks afterward, though.

I have a bunch of different headsets & headphones for music. I usually play game audio over (Cambridge Soundworks) speakers, but when I do use headphones for gaming it's Audio Technica Airs, 'cause they're comfy on my tiny head.

@theveteran13:

I took a quick glance at the latest online manual for your motherboard: Z97-A It seems to suggest that it might be performing a self-test on the RAM (although it's about as clearly written as most MoBo manuals, i.e. not at all). From what I read in section 1.8, pages 1-36 to 1-40, it could be that the LEDs are flashing as the board performs a test, & continue flashing each time you change things & reboot because it starts the self-test all over again. If it was me, I'd probably read pg. 1-40 through a few times & see if this is what's going on:

Does the on-board speaker beep at all? The motherboard manual should have a list of error sounds that might help narrow down the issue.

Also, the motherboard description says, "depends on CPU," for on-board video & the CPU specs. say it does have on-board video. Have you tried booting without the video card inserted, just to eliminate it as an issue?

The main thing I think Patrick contributed to Giant Bomb was a different perspective. He championed independent games & diverse voices and he was the most willing to step outside of his comfort zone and give anything & anyone a chance.

As far as content goes, others have already mentioned most of it. Bombin' In The A.M. with Alex, Worth Reading & Spelunkin' were great. The extra effort he put in after we lost Ryan - well, he should have a special GB community commendation for that alone.

I will throw in one of my favourite Quick Looks that I don't think anyone has posted, yet.

I feel like I'm somehow expected to see it as some sort of artistic freedom political statement so that's exactly why I won't be watching it.

Freedom Isn't Free

j/k - I'm with you on this one. Plus, Rogen's response to this review was childish.

A couple of my favourites that showcase the versatile hilarity of Ryan Davis:

Others have already listed some of my favourites, but here's a few I didn't see mentioned, yet:

WNYC's Radiolab From their site: "Radiolab is a show about curiosity. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience." If you like 'Serial' and/or 'This American Life,' you'll love Radiolab.

Last Podcast On The Left "Every week Ben Kissel, Henry Zebrowski, and Marcus Parks explore the horrors of the world both imagined and real." It's basically three comedians talking about weird & creepy stuff that interests them: serial killers, horror films, the supernatural, etc. Goofy & irreverant and don't expect high-minded scholarship.

The Higherside Chats "The Higherside Chats is an interview based podcast where Greg Carlwood grabs a beer, lights a joint, and sits down for conversations with the best researchers, authors, and experts on a whole host of conspiracy, paranormal, and all around fringe topics." Similar to Coast 2 Coast AM & Red Ice Radio, but the host is a bit more skeptical & open-minded & a lot less batshit crazy.

Stuff To Blow Your Mind From the 'How Stuff Works' family of podcasts. I also listen to the conspiracy & history podcasts they produce, but STBYM is probably the best all-around listen.

There are tons more with promise that I've just started listening to, so I won't recommend them outright. The Truth: Movies For Your Ears / Love + Radio / Mind Labs

Lastly, another vote for Welcome To Night Vale. Start at the very beginning & give it a few episodes to get going. You won't regret it.

So far, the only fix I've found has been to hide the chat window completely during live streams. The usual solutions for GB live stream issues - log out & then in, open in an incognito window, change streaming quality from HD to SD - haven't stopped it.

P.S. I'm located on the East Coast - on Cape Cod, to be more precise.
