@GaspoweR: Well the guy that was working on the wiki said something about how Ryan set him up with a wizard class to use for the walkthrough and that tall dude with curly hair showed up at the end. (Sorry I always forget his name) I don't think Anthony ever graced their presence however there were three hours that I blacked out on that maybe someone had shown up?? That's all I remember.

Final Fantasy VIII was by far my favorite and the underdog of the series. It by far out-surpassed 7 especially by graphics even though it was only on PS1. Sure 7 had the cooler villain but even Sephiroth couldn't touch the crazy, classy Kefka. You knew some serious shit was about to go down when you heard echoes of laughter coming from somewhere and besides he didn't need to have a sword the size of a limo because he had intelligence, was always one step ahead of the game and did I mention he was bat shit crazy?

Gunblade? Two awesome things in one? I know it's childish of sorts but blowing someone's knee cap off only to swing around and follow up with lopping off their head is flippin' awesome but while it's stupid to everyone else, it's o.k. to like chainsaws on assault rifles right?

I get why your put off by the nerdy side of fantasy but in the end what draws everyone to these types of games are the open world aspect to it all. Granted it can be either good or bad just like any other genre but when they do get it right no matter what it's based on, having a virtual world to run amok in is always enjoyable. (When it's done right.)

Take Red Dead Redemption for instance. Sure it was based on the wild west but they put so much attention to detail a long with such a great story that even the Mexico portion of the game, which could have used a better reason to be down their other than "follow the bread crumbs", didn't drag it down too much. (Even though I personally never had a problem with it to a certain degree because it was just more open world awesomeness.)

I think what's so appealing about open world games are the reasons to just escape from it all and forget all the B.S. of the world then just let loose. Everyone needs that now and then.

I watched the whole thing and I can say without a shadow of doubt that while my attitude towards IGN isn't as positive as it used to be, sometimes they do things like that and it reminds me why I liked IGN all those years ago.

It also totally sold me on Dark Souls, that game was fucking amazing.

It reminds me of those old NES games from the past that would beat your ass only to give you one life so you'd have to start all over again from the title screen.

It's definitely a niche title. I only wish I would have had the chance to play Demon Souls way back.

Anyway, kudos to you IGN, for doing something awesome for a change.

Well. So much for hoping this game would be good. "sigh"

Would it kill someone to make a good X-Men game?

My first question would be. "What the fuck did you say to him?"

While I'm laughing and pissing my pants.

Diablo III.

I know it's not coming out until next year, however it seems as though Blizzard has given all the care in the world to WOW and Starcraft II.

Diablo III just seems like an after thought as if their making this game for the sole purpose of being a money farmer.

I think the idea of switching out skills on the fly is awesome but auto attribute points?

Everything I've seen of the Beta so far doesn't impress and while I'm sure that i'll probably end up eating my words next year when it comes out, it seems as though they've taken this entire time to set up that relationship with their third party brothers for loot farming instead of game making.

Don't get me wrong though, I understand them doing this and the reasons why.

It's like I said, it just seems as if Diablo III is being pushed out for money farming not making another stellar Diablo game.

Oh. I almost forgot. You have to be connected online at all times? I'm sure they have their reasons for this however I don't understand why they would implement this considering that they know America is behind in the internet race. While I do have stable internet at times it isn't always so.

I'm in the mood for some looting. Hop on Diablo III and POOF! Some server somewhere goes bonkers and I can't play because for some goofy reason Single Player Campaign has to be online. I know it's more fun to play Diablo with people but I played a majority of 2 by myself and had just as much fun. Bad form Blizzard. I think all that WOW money has gone to your head.

Now, as for this year in particular. Homefront.

Frontlines: Fuel of War had an awesome mulitplayer and was unique at the time with no AAA backing like C.O.D..

After what they did with that game and what became of Homefront, I was severly disappointed.

Have a good day everyone! I'm going to go punch a tree.

First of all we're talking about Microsoft.

If they were to actually implement that whole deal like they talked about before the 360 launched, then it would probably be more akin to 40,000 MSP to buy something as trivial as a hat for your avatar.

Like they would actually give something away for fictional currency.

We're talking about MS for GOD sake, they'd sell their own family for a parking spot.

They nickel and dime LIVE out the waz, then ask you to pay a sub fee for access to internet that you already pay for just so you can access the second half of a game that costs $60. A long with the fact that their gonna keep raising the cost of LIVE every so often just because they can.

I still don't understand how the Earthworm Jim redux costs $10 and Metal Slug XX is like $15? (It was at some point, don't know if that changed.)

Have a good day everyone! I'm gonna go punch a tree.
