Had the same problem with just being dumped in valentine after a ridiculous street brawl with no idea what I was supposed to do (or why).

Got challenged to a duel, was given very minimal instructions on how to duel, died, and eventually stole a horse and rode back to camp.

The first yellow dot there was Hosea, whose prompt was just "go hunting". I turned the game off. I don't understand what this game even is.

I quite like Arctis 7. Most gaming headphones give me a mild headache after a while, but these are quite comfortable. My only (pretty minor) complaint about it is that I had expected turning the headset off/on would automatically affect the default audio device in Windows, but it doesn't.

Agree with the Fallout hacking being bad, but I REALLY hate the hacking minigame in Mass Effect 2. The fact that a mod exists to remove all minigames from those games made them so much more playable for me than they would have otherwise been. The Deus Ex HR hacking minigame is maybe tied with Fallout

@saffgrenade: Alternate, perhaps somewhat hotter take for you: Witcher 2 is a bad game that feels bad to play and then is just kind of over rather than ending.

I'm taking the licensing thing from Greene himself in an interview. I don't know what that licensure entailed (I'm guessing it was "hey, we'll pay you while you're here and both go our separate ways after"), but at the very least, Daybreak felt compelled to bring him in as a consultant for the time he was there.

This is not what "licensing" means. The article also quotes him as saying "they licensed my idea for inclusion" which is also very much not a thing. This is not a deep and complex facet of IP law either, it's the basic kind of stuff that people make when they confuse copyright with patents (or in this case, "ideas").

  • All the Uncharted games are, at best, mediocre
  • Same goes for TLOU
  • God of War is not that good, largely due to copying the dumbest parts of Naughty Dog's "gameplay"

@notnert427: I'll second that Balvenie Caribbean Cask suggestion. Made me consider spending some time getting into rum. I'll also suggest Yellow Spot Irish whiskey which (to steal directly from their marketing copy) is "matured in three types of cask: American Bourbon cask, Spanish Sherry butts and Spanish Malaga casks."

@rorie: Yeah, I had to switch to controller for the flying. Hotswapping was not a problem.

For some reason, that wildlands DLC strikes me as Tom Clancy's Point Break, and I am weirdly OK with that :-)

I've just started on FC5 and had been trying to push past my fairly negative impressions of the first couple of hours when I stumbled upon this Clutch Nixon mission:

Loading Video...

On top of really hating how the plane controls, I am utterly baffled by the tone of this. I can't even tell if it's trying to be over the top in an ironic way, or if it's earnestly embracing a "fuck yeah!" attitude. Maybe they're trying to accomplish both at the same time?

Either way, holy shit what a mess. Do they realize the setting of the rest of the game? I have seen people talking about tonal problems in this game, but since I haven't seen anyone specifically mention Clutch Nixon, is it safe to assume that the game does other, equally jarring shifts?

(Whew, there, I succeeded at having my post not just be "Holy shit, Clutch Nixon, WTF?")

The first one was really neat, but some of the puzzle solutions gave me flashbacks to bad pc adventure games from the olden days.

I'll almost certainly pick up the new one, but I hope to not have to play it with gamefaqs nearby.
