Yeah I will admit the one thing that kept me coming back and trying to complete the games was the G Man. I do find the whole Gman thing to be fascinating but the rest of it I just couldn't get into. Half life is one of those games that I want to like but just can't :|
Well I'm in the same boat as him. It's not that I hate Half Life I just don't understand the immense amount of love that the games get. I'm not a huge FPS fan, as in I don't play them constantly, but I do enjoy the occasional FPS. I don't know if there's anything in particular that I didn't like about the game it's more I just didn't find it very enjoyable. I've tried numerous times to try and finish any of them but I just get bored. I'm fully open to the thought that maybe I just don't "get" that game but quite frankly I just don't enjoy Half Life at all.

From someone who has been a "console gamer" for my whole life I'm really wanting to play Dragon Age on PC....it just looks miles better on the PC. If you've got a PC that can run it I'd go there.....if not Final Fantasy XIII. Though from the reviews coming in I've heard the console versions of Dragon Age are pretty similar but both have some graphics and frame rate issues.
