Start by not posting a story like this online that she could easily see. Second, apologize.

" @Video_Game_King: Considering how much venom you spit about that game, I don't think I will ever bother to play Devil Survivor. Either that, or I'll see it in a bargain bin for $10, buy it, and then think it's alright, much to your hypothetical chagrin. But I couldn't see anyone getting through FE5 without some serious savestate abuse. The fact that it starts out deceptively un-hard just makes the entire thing worse.

@Raven10: Always nice to see another New World Computing fan. I actually think Heroes V is a perfectly fine game, but it's not quite the same as the old days. And yes, Sandro is a pretty cool guy. "
Heroes V was fine but it just didn't have the NWC style. There's something about that team that you just can't recreate. Heroes 3 and M&M7 were my respective favorites. I actually never played the first bunch of Might and Magic games. First one was seven. Then played eight and ten minutes of nine before cracking the disc in disgust. I've wanted to get into six but haven't had a chance. I've played all the Heroes games, though. I even played the GBC Might and Magic game. That one kind of sucked, though. True shame when 3DO shut its doors. Ubisoft just hasn't been able to catch the same magic that New World Computing had.

Your picture is godly. I haven't seen that face since 3DO shut its doors. Bring back Sandro Goddamnit! I don't want to play as these stupid new characters. There is only one hero in that series and his name is Sandro. I spent 3 years trying to beat Jolly Rogers with him! Damn purple dragons. I wonder if anyone ever beat that map...

Who are the San Fransisco Giants? Are they a Halo clan? I hear they love them some Halo in Cali.

As with any big MP game there will be bugs and balancing problems at launch. You can do your best to balance a game, but there is a difference between a couple hundred people playing it and a couple of million. There are bound to be issues that they didn't account for and hopefully those issues will be quickly resolved. Especially when you are on a really tight schedule, you can't test for a super long time.

1. Mass Effect 2
2. Limbo
3. Bayonetta
4. Super Meat Boy
5. Halo Reach

I haven't played Red Dead yet and I don't have a Wii so that's why Mario and Kirby aren't on the list.

Well speaking there are like only 2 games for that system I don't see any reason to own it other than to say you own it. If you have that much money to blow there are charities that need help and people starving in the streets. If you are a collector then I guess that is fine, but that would be at the bottom of my list of systems to collect, right up there with the Zodiac.

First off, architecture won't help you one bit in game design. I'm a game designer and I can tell you straight off the bat that unless you are making a physics based game, your buildings will have little architectural basis. Your job as a game artist will be to make things that look cool and seem like they would work. They most likely won't, but you have to create the illusion that they do.

Second, if you want to draw, model, or animate for the gaming industry you have to be incredible. There are tens of thousands of wannabe game designers and only a couple thousand positions. Unless you are really lucky or have some major connections the only way to make it in the game industry is to be better than everyone else. Companies lay off artists and designers on a regular basis. If you aren't performing up to par then there are five hundred other people who want to prove they can do better. I'm going to be blunt. If you aren't the best drawer you know then don't even try. It's just not worth it.

If you still want to try then there are a couple of things to know. First off, you are going to work long hours. If you want to have free time then this isn't the field for you. Be prepared to work at least 10 hour days if not 12 and most likely six days a week during crunch time. Secondly, have a portfolio of great work. No one is going to hire you because you promise them you are good. You have to prove it to them by having models and drawings and mods. Thirdly, if you want to work at a big company like EA or something then don't expect to be able to design and to do art. You are either an artist or you are a designer. And within that you are further segmented. You may do the modeling of Character X and do concept work for Building Y. That is your job. No one cares what you think the game should play like. Someone tells you to draw Building Y and what he or she wants building Y to look like and you draw it. If you want to be the person who decides what the game will be like then you will do design, but you will not be doing art as well then. You'll tell an artist you need him to create Character Z and then he draws it. A lot of people think that everyone does some of everything but that isn't true. I can't draw. When I make a level I used a bunch of colored rectangles. I then pass that on to an artist who turns my rectangles into something amazing.

Also, have you tried looking into an animation or game design major? If you want to animate games then go to animation school. If you want to design then go to design schools. Interactive Art is another major that could get you an in.

But my biggest piece of advice is to have an impressive portfolio of work that proves that you are the person to hire. If you don't you won't have a job in the gaming industry.

This thread is funny. This game is just like Sonic 1-3. Sonic always started out slow and got a lot faster. Go back and play Sonic on the Genesis. He moves in the exact same way. Sonic fans are truly impossible to please. They asked for a decade for Sega to make a 2D Sonic just like the old ones. So Sega did and now people realize what many others have known for years - Sonic wasn't that great of a game. It certainly doesn't hold up nearly as well as Mario. Everything people are complaining about besides the music are things that have always been in Sonic. If you didn't want a Sonic exactly like the old ones then why did you ask for it?

This "
Dude me too. If a girl knows about Might and Magic then she is marriage material.

As for the question, a girl I know who I didn't think was into gaming randomly wrote on my Facebook that Red Dead Redemption was her favorite game since the NES. She also enjoys Borderlands and Left 4 Dead. If she wasn't taken already I would have dropped to one knee the very next time I saw her. Helps that she is super hot and badass as well.

Another time a girl was visiting my roommate and they were in his bedroom together and her phone rang and her ringtone was the Zelda theme. That was pretty crazy.
