2016 is going to be ridiculous. Especially if all of these games come out.

2016 is going to be awesome. Honestly, I can't remember the last time a year had so many potential releases I was excited for (except maybe 2015 before everything got pushed back?) This is a list of games that should/might/better come out this year, and why I'm excited for them. If anything, it'll be fun looking at this in December and laughing at how optimistic I was

List items

  • I don't care about Fire Emblem but everything I've seen about this game seems cool so I'm willing to overlook the FE affiliation.

  • I can't stand the Neptunia games but anything with the Sega Hard Girls is an instant buy from me. Begrudgingly.

  • The game still looks rough but it's getting better. I really liked how XIII played.

  • Played a lot of the import version, gameplay is neat, but the main thing is seeing how much fanservice they crammed in there.

  • Haha, just kidding. RIP Wars games.

  • Cuphead looks awesome. No really, LOOK AT IT. Hope the gameplay matches the awesome art style

  • This is definitely one of the "Yeah right" games. But if it does come out this year, it's a new Mass Effect. That's all you need to say.

  • Sure, why not. More excited about multiplayer than the story though. I didn't get a chance to play the beta but it seems like a fun mix of Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us.

  • Destiny's Year 3 is a big deal. The Taken King was okay, and a huge improvement, but it was still building off of the corpse of the original Destiny. When they finally drop the last gen consoles, will this be the game it has the potential to be?

  • My 2010 Game of the Year is finally getting rereleased on PS4.

  • What I played of the beta was a ton of fun, completely sold me on this.

  • This game probably won't be out in the States this year, but I'm hoping it does so we get the three great visual novel series to duke it out.

  • I've only played the first Persona, tried to get into 4 but that ship sailed. This game looks great though.

  • Played the three betas and I can't wait to get my hands on this. I keep telling myself this is the year I get good at fighters.

  • Ditto, 25th Anniversary. Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary was awesome, expecting another great anniversary game from Sega.

  • 25th Anniversary this year. Generations 2 would be great! Classic Sonic, Adventure Sonic, Boom Sonic. THREE GENERATIONS OF SONIC! I know there's going to be a Sonic game, but the 3DS of Sonic Boom can't be it, right?

  • Can't believe this game has been in development since 1984. Still, it's about time. (I know that the game attached isn't the right "The Witness")

  • Assuming Level 5 follows the same formula they did for Layton, release them yearly but years behind. The first game was fun, but this is the one that supposedly blew everyone away in Japan.

  • The first one was a game that blew me away and reminded me why Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was cool.

  • Probably Ghosts 2. Look, Ghosts was pretty bad but that ending sequence is ridiculous even for Call of Duty standards, I have to see what happens next. I skipped Black Ops 3, first one I've skipped since before Modern Warfare. Probably setting the bar too high for this one, but imagine if they nail it.

  • Expecting this to be announced and dropped this holiday, it's time right? First one was awesome but there wasn't enough there. This should be huge.

  • The lunch eater. When V3 was announced I was skeptical about their decision to create a new standalone story. After playing Another Episode I am thrilled about this decision.

  • Since Virtue's Last Reward came out, Danganronpa came out of nowhere and ate it's lunch while Uchikoshi was writing an anime about panty shots. Still, it'll be nice to see this story come to a close.

  • I always thought Versus XIII looked more interesting than FF13 proper. Blown away that this game is still coming out, and that the long wait may finally be over.

  • Tekken Revolution really got me into Tekken, I've been waiting for a proper console release for quite some time.

  • Fell in love with how great Xrd looked and how cool that game was. More of that isn't a bad thing.
