@humanity: I bought two games at a GameStop in NYC in 2009 when I was there on holiday and the experience was simply 'put games on counter to pay and go'. In the Netherlands only specialised gameshops ask whether or not you want a season pass but that's about it.
As long as digital games are €10 more expensive in Europe than physical copies I'll stick to discs. And I just can't understand why GameStop is still a thing in the US when they treat their customers like shit (as there has been billions of these stories online).
I waited a few weeks before buying MGS5, I wasn't planning on buying it because of Konami and their BS, However, during several Bombcast episodes Dan and Brad kept telling how MGS5 was maybe the best open world game of all-time. So I decided to give this game a shot, the opening was cool enough but somehow I couldn't get myself to play the game beyond mission 10. Whenever I had some time to play games I kept thinking 'maybe I should play MGS5' but ultimately I always end up olaying something else.
Normally it's fine if my opinion on a game differs from the Bombcrew (and other media outlets). However, with what I played of MGS5, the claim by Dan, Brad and numerous other media outlets that MGS5 was the best open world game of all time was simply insane. So I guess part of my 'hate' for MGS5 comes from the fact that it's bound to get several GOTY awards that it really doesn't deserve. Yes, it is the best playing MGS game, but it fails horribly as an open world game in my opinion.
@scotto: If I recall correctly it is in fact stated in the instruction manual of Halo: Comba Evolved that Master Chief is the last of the Spartan II project after the fall of Reach
I just wish 343 would stop offloading important story beats to books or other media. It's quite perplexing that someone who played every Halo game up until this point has to wonder who the fuck all these characters and what the fuck is even going on when starting Halo 5. Halo 4 had the same problem. I mean, it's fine to publish books to expand the universe as long as they don't contain major story elements. Mass Effect had books and comics which gave you a bit more information about the universe or characters, yet it was entirely possible to understand the story if you didn't read them
Played it on the 360, had high hopes for this because the PC version was so well recieved. I thought it was one big snoozefest. Yeah the mechanics were solid but man does that game has some boring leveldesign.
