What the heeeell. It looks like a cult.

It's really not that far off GB pax panels.

I don't think we've been watching the same panels then, haha.

I've seen plenty of crazy antics, crowd chanting, and other sillyness at gb panels. This is obviously a bit more dialed up than that (I don't remember a GB crew member crowd surfing onto the stage), but I would bet that people outside of this community would think similar things about us. It's all perspective. I'm not familiar with KF, but I would be surprised if this wasn't tongue in cheek. That's how it seemed to me anyway, from what I watched.

And yet he can't tell the difference in feel between Mario Maker and original SMB.

The thing about No Man's Sky, is that so much of the hatred was directed at Sean Murray, rather than the game itself. A veritable witch hunt. The whole thing got so out of line, weirdly personal, and super petulant. It just feels different to me than how it went with the other usual suspects. Even in the cases where EA got shit slung at them, a company is so much less personal than a...well, person.

Seems like it. It's sort of run it's course for me. Not so much old games in general, but the platforming stuff. Those games just don't provide a ton of entertaining moments for me. When it comes to watching the crew play games, I've always preferred the story based stuff, MST3K style. I love watching them play things like Until Dawn, Contradiction, and all of the old FMV games they've visited over the years. Those kinds of games are chock full of opportunities for funny riffing. Old platformers usually come down to tangents that end up feeling like an off topic podcast, rather than a piece of content about the game they're playing. Which isn't a terrible thing, there's just not a lot to directly comment on with that stuff. It has it's place for me, as I've enjoyed it in the past (Brad playing Volgar). But it's just been A LOT of that one kind of thing. I guess my actual issue is the lack of diverse content.

Hopefully they mix it up soon. I'm definitely looking forward to them playing Yakuza, although I'm sad to hear that Vinny won't be in there with them.

You sir, have just described the entire reason I absolutely refuse to go within 10 yards of any competitive multiplayer game. Everyone turns into a raging asshole.

Everyone is an overstatement. And besides, most competitive games allow the option to mute everyone.

@bojackhorseman: If you're enjoying leveling now then by all means keep at it. My recommendation to skip to Legion was because you seemed to be not enjoying yourself a lot, but if you're having fun, keep going.

As far as the new talent system goes... their goal was to strip out a lot of the "boring choices" such as 3/3 increased crit, or 5/5 energy regeneration, etc. They felt that the old talent trees lead to the cookie cutter mentality of people just looking up what the most optimal setup was, without having to make any choice on their own as a player. What they ended up with is a far smaller tree of talents, but all of them are major choices that significantly modify your playstyle. It's not a perfect system, and they never did achieve the goal of getting 100% away from the cookie cutter syndrome. People still turn to online sources, where others have done the math on what the best choices are for any given situation. It's got its ups and downs I suppose. You can't play a hybrid build like you could with the old talent trees, for example. You can, however, change talents on the fly (at a cost) depending on what you're up against, and there is far less of a "right answer" in most cases.

I haven't played too much of the demon hunter past the starting experience. It is super fun though! Most people who try it seem to fall in love.
