Crowd control is the art of whittling down large groups of attacking enemies via the constant reassessment of the greatest threat to the player; achieved by constant player movement, and adjusting the aim to the closest threat, then quickly moving on to the next greatest threat, and so forth.
Anytime an ally comes in to help you in any way. This mechanic is most common in fighting games.
The ability for players to manipulate objects in the environment and use them as weapons. An example of this gameplay mechanic is Half-Life 2, in which players make use of a Gravity Gun to launch objects with deadly force.
Common in modern war video games, air strikes are usually used to take out large targets such as enemy vehicles or buildings. Laser designators are often used by the player to illuminate the target for a massive aerial attack.
When players must fight all of the bosses of the game at once. This can either be an optional mode, or a required sequence. Boss Rush can also mean a game where the player only fights bosses.
Characters that are overweight have more body fat than normal for their race, or at least look it. A character that is overweight may or may not have great strength.
Not all bosses can handle the player by themselves. Many use waves of lesser enemies to fight for them while they rest, and some even let these minions do all the work.
The Suplex is a well-known wrestling maneuver where the attacker grabs hold of their opponent, lifts them off the ground, then uses both of their bodies to drive the opponent into the mat.
During boss battles, sometimes the boss kills their own henchmen. This concept is often used as a way of demonstrating a boss' wrath.
It happens when a character loses a life or has his progress somehow hampered and comes back in a state of temporary invincibility (usually blinking).
A peaceful elevator ride to the next part of the level or to a boss fight that becomes a non-stop barrage of enemies to fight.
While piledrivers, clotheslines, and suplexes might seem at home in wrestling games, many professional wrestling moves have found their way into other video game genres. Brawlers and fighting games are commonly home to these moves, with Mike Haggar's piledriver being a classic example.

A powerful punch, frequently capable of knocking the recipient off into the distance. Named after Naru Naruseqawa (Love Hina), who frequently uses it on Keitaro. It is also known as the "Megaton Punch", as seen in Disgaea and Pokémon.
Rooms that are either invisible or extremely hidden. Players are rewarded with health, easter eggs, weapons or traps.
Creatures that are usually part fish and part human.
Some games just weren't meant to be.
A wheelman is a professional driver for hire, capable of performing high-risk evasive maneuvers. Jobs usually consist of, but are not limited to, delivery or getaway missions.
Games in which players drive buses.
“Indie” or “independently developed” games are video games which are developed by a studio without the support of an external publisher.
Homebrew software is a slang term for unofficial software and games for consoles and handhelds which don't generally support it, such as the Wii or Nintendo DS.
