I'm genuinely shocked that Dan defected to the Soviet Union. Still, best of luck to him.

@buzz_clik: Dogs are also stupid and will follow orders even if it could harm them. Wolves care more abour self preservation which leads me to believe they wouldn't just sprint at you and go for you arms and legs. They would probably weave in and out and go for little nips at your legs and cause bleeding and exhaust you. Then when you're too tired to move they would rip open your stomach and eat your organs while you lay back and watch.

Look, Liam Neeson just barely beat a wolf when he was armed with a knife and bottle knuckles, and I don't think anyone is going to seriously suggest Dan is anywhere near Liam Neeson tier.

Wolf takes it, no contest.

Something is still wrong with the podcast feed file. I'm using Downcast on my iPhone and the file size shows 8.5kb.

Is it possible to reupload the fixed file to the feed?

I'm not sure I'm a big fan of them doing the videos on these now. It doesn't seem to do much extra, and it's so much extra work for Drew or Jason. It seems like it's just distracting them from the conversation. Maybe they'll get the motions down and it'll be fine in the future. I guess I just don't see what benefit they're getting out of the effort.

So I've been trying to stay away from all things NMS but I am aware about the leak and the guy reaching the centre of the galaxy.

Thing is, Brad stated that that was the game completed....but isn't they're literally billions of galaxies? Therefore, wouldn't the completion criteria, using that logic, be getting to the centre of the universe?

Which, for all I know is impossible as I'm not even sure what ship upgrades you have (though I'm assuming there is some sort of warp drive).

The prices of retro games these days don't bug me as much as the idea that the people who can so easily purchase some of these games probably made better life choices than me. I'm 35 and have never taken home more than $35,000 a year. I could throw down almost $200 for Mega Man X3, but it's obviously harder for me to justify doing so compared to someone with an actual career making twice my income or more.

I know expensive retro games are silly things to make a person wish they had their shit more together, but considering that the idea of people my age having long been married or parents doesn't faze me, there's not much else to make me think about that.

On a lighter note: I should go back and finish Psycho Waluigi sometime. That game has some good ideas. (There are eyeball power-ups!)

It's weird how suddenly everyone seems to be downplaying No Man's Sky after two years of "WHAT IS THIS GAME?" "IS IT ALL GAMES?" "WILL WE NEED GAMES AFTER THIS GAME?" "IT'S SO MYSTERIOUS!!"

It might have been overly hyped a smidge

Also Tactics and Tactics Ogre are the two best tactics games. They get to the actual game way faster than any of the Advance FFT games. Love 'em

The top "Game of the Year" discussion would have been damn simple if they just didn't screw up and narrowly vote Uncharted 2 as the game of the year for 2009 when their #2 choice (Batman Arkham Asylum) was by far the better game and still holds up to the test of time better as well.

Think you lads missed a pretty key point about Tetris pieces: they are all made of 4 units and make up the series of shapes called Tetrominos, which is where they got the name for the game, not vice-versa. All of the possible tetrominos are in the game, so there is no such thing as a "new" tetris piece.

GTA IV best GoTY of the GoTYs. Incredible story, incredible gameplay. I would say only TLoU rivals the greatness of GTA IV's storytelling.

Regarding the Tetris "revelation": it's *called* Tetris after "tetromino" which is the term for shapes made up of four squares connected orthogonally (most people are familiar with its cousin the "domino").

So yes, it's definitely intentional that all the tetrominos are part of the game, and introducing another piece would make it no longer really fit the name Tetris.

I figured this episode would have some explanation of what is happening with Dan leaving town. I assume he is going to work at the GB east office since his girlfriend is from New Jersey and Austin left. I did quite enjoy the wrestling esque match to determine who would leave town even though the shots at the end showed it was planned ahead of time.

@iggnight: the picture he tweeted out before he did the AMA on reddit contained 5 amiibo's.

Left of the laptop he put Ganon and Bowser. To the right of the laptop, he put Ness, Yoshi and Captain Falcon. A David Letterman hat was in the same picture.

Always great having Peter on!

One quick request: I'm super into the numbering and naming of podcast episodes, but could we get a date on them somewhere also just for reference? I know Brad says it at the top of the show, but would be a nice thing to have somewhere in the text also.

Seconded. 'I remember them talking about a podcast in the summer of 2016', would be a good way to find a conversation back when there were dates, with just numbers it's way more difficult.

He did get to the center of the universe as far as I've heard. But depending on where you start (which is random), the upgrades/resources you can find and the distance to that center can differ I guess. Since that is one of the major goals of the game it's obviously possible, and Hello Games said they expected the game to be at least 30 hours, it seems likely that you can reach the center of the universe if you focus all of your effort into that fairly "quickly".

i wouldn't assume that at all since I distinctly remember Dan talking about going to New Jersey to visit his girlfriend's parents for a brief period of time in which he will make an appearance on the GBEASTcast.

A very talky Drew this week. 10/10.

As long as I've hankered for a Marvel Ultimate Alliance re-release, this last week of news has been a real roller coaster. If they fix the game (and the price), I'd be all over that like white on ricerICEman (r)ice(man)r-ice(man)(r)ice, man something that's white, and referential.

Not gonna lie, having the wide camera positioned right where Jason sits gets really disconcerting when the rest of the guys are addressing Jason himself, because it looks like they're all staring at the camera, hence feeling like they are staring at ME.

Don't stare at me, guys. It's rude.

(Just to be clear up front, I am not legitimately angry, more slightly annoyed and amused)

I have grown to like Dan and his unique perspectives, but goddamn his stupid wolf argument is the height of "old Dan" ignorance. I think he might be trolling, but with Dan you never know. While a german shepherd that was been trained by police is dangerous, it is no comparison to a wolf. Wolves are apex predators, so there is not much in the food chain that they could not take out, especially in a pack. But even a single wolf against an unarmed martial artist would be a mismatch, one against an unarmed Dan would be a blood bath.

For example, a german shepherd can bite with a force of 238 PSI. Now compare that to a wolf: "A wolf’s normal bite force is around 400 pounds. If it is protecting itself, a large wolf can bite down with over 1,200 pounds of pressure" The average male wolf weighs 66-180 pounds, so lets split the difference and say 120lbs. A wolf that is 120lbs going quickly straight for a person's arm or neck with 600 PSI bite would be fatale for an average person not trained in combat or without any fight experience. You might get one shot to get it by the neck (which is no guarantee) and at how fast they move extremely unlikely. Maybe Dan should look into what wolves actually can do before he makes any more claims.

I'm enjoying Exvius and have finished all three available chapters. It definitely took my attention away from Record Keeper. The real money store is beyond absurd (I dunno if "whale bait" is a real term), I've only bought a few of the dollar magicite packs.
