I played the Bright Memory early access build on Steam awhile ago and it was really cool. The combat is off the chain. Its like an fps metal gear rising style with souls like tendencies. This full version looks excellent.

Some real solid games shown, their next thing is with IGN in June (Platform and services, smaller info dump I'd imagine) then the big show in July that is their E3 replacement (1st and 3rd party there). Sony is rumored to go in June and Nintendo is rumored to be 3-4 months behind their original plans :-(

Looking forward to Second Extinction. Still wish there were more dinosaurs in games these days.

I was happy to watch this, until it started. Bad choice of hosts.

It seems clear to me now that we're going to see more of the same from Xbox and third-party developers this generation. When you still have to make a PC version you still have to adhere to the restrictions that architecture will continue to have for a while. It'll look pretty, support better refresh rates but doesn't look like there's a reason to buy an Xbox, yet. I'll still keep paying for Game Pass PC though.

Scorn has been in development FOREVER now. I think it was announced in like, 2016 or so, and a playable alpha or demo was put out on Itch.io (or maybe someplace else, it's been way to long) and it was pretty HR Geiger for sure, not to mention very moist and gross looking. There's another survival horror kinda game using that same style, but I forget the name of it and it to has been in the works for years.

This was disappointing. If they didn't have more to show they should've waited until they did.

I've always been an Xbox fan, even through MS's awful E3 conference for the Xbox One (they were spot-on with their predictions of digital-only game infrastructures)... but, that was... bad. I mean sure, some of the games look interesting, but there was almost zero actual gameplay in the "GAMEPLAY reveal." I don't understand how MS continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over. They had better BRING IT with their first-party stuff or they're screwed.

Man, this was rough, not to mention bland.

In-engine or otherwise, nothing looked any better graphically than what we've already seen current games doing on super beefy machines.

I don't have my ear to the ground about what Xbox reveals were going to happen, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. Honestly, it was so awesome to see new games being shown. It feels like it's been forever, and I enjoyed the show today, even though everyone at Xbox had to put this together from their homes. Great job, all.

Am I the only one who just wants a "Windows PC mode" for the Xbox Series X? Like, a mode that lets you just use it as a regular Windows 10 PC. It might affect 3rd party software sales to some extent, but loads of people would buy it as an affordable/powerful gaming PC.

The audio track is behind by roughly 1.3 seconds, for those who wants to sync it on their own.

Scorn looks great and that trailer stood out in edit and tone. I feel like an Alex/Vinny combo could get the most out of it in a quick look.

That said, what Microsoft/Xbox has shown here looks kind of underwhelming...? Looks purdy but I have a hard time trusting trailer graphics. Would love to see actual gameplay and maybe some kind of narration to it.

Played the SCORN Alpha demo around September of 2017. Been waiting for that game for quite some time. Seeing it become a MS exclusive will hopefully mean they got some money in the bag to help them complete their goal.

I thought it was pretty hilarious that they kept hyping up the Valhalla gameplay trailer at the bottom of the screen.... only for it to be like 75 seconds of fast-cut in-game cinematics, maybe? I didn't get much out of it except "oh cool, it's Stonehenge"

Anyway, I'm a pretty big fan of Origins & Odyssey (and most other games in the series), so I'm sure I will love Valhalla. Also it's cool that more people will get to play Yakuza. None of the other games shown look like stuff I'd be interested in.

I want to root for Microsoft because they are making a lot of smart moves that are pro-consumer, but yah they really misrepresented what this was going to be. I was expecting to actually see concrete gameplay that showed off why you might want to buy a next-gen console. So beautiful games running at 60 FPS with minimal load times and things of that nature. This was more of a sizzle reel for things that might come in the future.

Also I agree with everyone that the Valhalla thing was a big letdown almost to the point where it does feel like something went wrong. Surely in 2020 with Spencer at the helm they know the difference between "Gameplay reveal" and some in-engine cutscene stuff. You best believe I took my umbrage all the way to the top, and complained to Eric Pope on Twitter.

None of them picked up on the Silent Hill-ish music in the Medium trailer, I would recognize that sound anywhere. Actually though for a moment that it was a new SH, but just the same composer.

Looking forward to Valhalla, even though I couldn't distinguish any of the footage as gameplay. If it was, then show someone with a controller. Ubi's probably behind schedule becasue of COVID, and expected more of a game by now.

I was wondering that myself. I specifically stopped watching live because I figured the archive would be a corrected version.

To be clear, I only say this because i'm assuming it's a quick fix. As far as i can tell, Jan was never able to change the delay so shifting things should be easy unlike if different sections had different delays.

Looks like the most generic 'new console lineup' of games...

I know times are hard but the GB production on this could've been better. The stream only started about 5 minutes before the presentation started. Then the stream had to be brought down 2 minutes before the Xbox stream started because of audio sync issues at which point we missed the beginning of the announcement.

I get everyone's doing their best under difficult circumstances but maybe starting live streams like this a little earlier would give a bit more adequate time to solve these technical issues? I also like hearing the gang speculate for a while before streams start too.

@lonelyspacepanda: this is where i'm at with it. i ended up getting frustrated and turning it off 3/4 of the way in bc there are a bunch of cool trailers there (new bloodlines!!!) and all anyone is doing is complaining about a lack of "gameplay" (which there was some of) and saying how bad it is. feels like if they actually let themselves get invested in the trailers instead of just shitting on everything immediately they may have come away from it feeling differently. one of my least favorite gb videos in recent memory

Man I love that Scorn trailer so much, hope the actual game is at least half as good. Agony was also going for a similar horny hell vibe and that game was totally meh.
