Quick Look: All Zombies Must Die

A real Game store in a game is kinda weird.

"I can't figure out what setting the preferred weapon does." 3 minutes after a help screen explained what it does :P

I wish the Giant Bomb guys would show local coop when games offer local coop. In many cases local coop is the only thing a title has going for it. It can take a mundane game and make it great, yet there are so many ways for developers to screw up. It is hard to make any judgement from reading a review about a game because most focus very little on coop. It would be a ton of help if we could watch the guys at GB play local coop for a while to get a real feel for how well it was implemented.

Yes let's release a co-op zombie shooter RPG and not have online co-op support. Fantastic.

Dead Space has Necromorphs, which are all kinds of fuckawesome. The Last of Us has fungus infected/controlled humans, which is the best new idea since Necromorphs.

Zombies that are just undead people are flatout boring. I'd rather have normal, alive people as enemies, even if there wasn't a reason for why they are after you.

This looks exactly as good as Bastion.

Vampires aren't in games nearly as much as zombies.

I can point you people to about 20 different flash games that have the "shoot junk and level up" mechanic to it. And you play those for free.

I'm expecting my chance of being excited or interested in this game to be about 5%. I'm always up for a Quick Look though.

Oh man, I did not like Burn Zombie Burn.

Fucking zombies. Why am I watching this when Vinny/Dave/Drew did a Quick Look for one of those crazy/awesome flight sims? The first comment spoils that takeoff doesn't happen for nearly 40 minutes -- now THAT'S going to be awesome. But this? It's just another stupid, worthless, forgettable, creatively bankrupt zombie game. I cannot wait for zombie nerds to get off this damn fad...

I'm this close to missing Nazis you guys. That's how bad this zombie thing has gotten.

I already do. They were more fun to fight, more interesting to look at, and shouted German at you. Way better than zombies. Even The Last of Us is too much for me. I just don't care about zombies anymore. Or the apocalypse. Or the zombie apocalypse.

I'm amazed at how positive Brad and Ryan are. They've dumped on much better games.

I have to agree. Brad seemed oddly stoked about the game having XP and crafting, but man, it's braindead easy to throw that stuff into a game. Brad himself said he didn't think the core gameplay is very good, and I 100% agree.

I can't believe how often Brad kept lingering in an area, killing guys for the XP. I would do the exact opposite if I was somehow in possession of this game: I would kill as few enemies as possible, doing my best to just run past all enemies, because clearly they've padded the game with bullshit "do this objective to leave the area" quests anyway, and I'd rather just finish the quest ASAP than engage in more of the game's mind-numbing combat.

Brad: "It's OK. Like I said, it gets better the more you upgrade your stuff."

That doesn't sound like the combat getting better, that sounds like the combat getting less tedious, since presumably you will level up enough that you do crazy damage and have much higher defense and health. This seems like one of those games where the progression system backfires, because it just makes the game seem more drawn out and padded since the core gameplay doesn't look very enjoyable.

So you don't like Bastion. Whatever, that's fine. Nobody cares. But Bastion isn't even a dual-joystick shooter, so the comparison has little relevance to this game. Would you please find somewhere more appropriate to grind your axe?

And the production values of Bastion are indisputably better than this game.

How about Zombie Nazi's, they're fun right? Right!?

...Anyway, I have no problem with zombies or the apocalypse, solong as there's enough new ideas to justify their exsistence. I thought Dead Island, although not my kind of game, had enough cool things going on (despite it being buggy as shit and unpolished) that it earned it's right to exsist. This on the other hand looks like a poor man's Dead Rising.

(I know it's an arcade game, but still. You could get either DR for about £5-10 now, same goes for the L4D games)

Why have a mall level if you're only going around one small floor with a few stores?

I have a friend who tried to build a cheap one. He didn't quite succeed. He then priced how much a good one would cost from Moog and he decided against getting an instrument which is better described as a weird noise making machine.

Man that reminds me of how much I want many other Moog products. Oh MoogerFooger you were always way too expensive for me to justify your purchase, especially since you didn't really fit the kind of music I can play.

I just never understood why people find zombies interesting in the first place. People that talk about "the zombie apocalypse" and Max Brooks books make me cringe.

Wow this is getting a lot a hate. It looks competent and surprisingly deep for a game of this kind.
