Rorie, from watching him throughout the years, is usually good at games. Not as well-rounded as Jeff, but Rorie can get it in. I think it was all that time being "Boss of Bosses" and playing video games longer than the other guys get to because he doesn't review/cover stuff anymore.

Crawl looked okay, i theoretically like some of those ideas, but it seems pretty tedious.

Loved watching y'all enjoy Crawl and that hook game. Heck as long as you guys are having fun I'd stick around, even if that game has to be Bayonetta.

I don't get why they don't buy the potions in Crawl. They're permanent and not exclusive, right? Hell, at one point there was a "+2 Strength, -1 Agility" potion next to a "+2 Agility, -1 Strength" potion. That's a +1 +1 net gain for 30 gold.

Yeah, I'm going to say the reaction to a missed screw in a receiver was a little over the top. Demanding they come to your house to fix it seems kind of petulant.

I remember some of GB's old coverage of Crawl. Game looks like it's come a long way, like giving players more things to do while they're dead. One thing though: this game seems impossible to balance. It might have just been specific to each boss, but the one that they fought today seemed too hard, while the one from early access seemed too easy. Same with higher level normal enemies. I don't know what you do about that. Perhaps at some point the game should just rely heavily on some kind of rubber banding?

It's such a great idea for a game but ensuring that everyone is having fun regardless of their standing and "who's winning" seems difficult.

Battlegrounds is unoptimized so it's necessary on most systems to lower some or all of the graphics settings to maintain a good frame rate. The blur Jeff mentioned in the past can be 90% cleared up by reducing Effects, Post Processing and Anti Aliasing settings to their lowest, and increasing the video scaling setting as much as frame rate allows.
This game doesn't handle controllers well, besides not having an option to turn off vibration, unplugging a controller causes serious issues, it's best to unplug or disable controllers in your device manager before starting the game.
You can tell which direction the plane is coming in from early by looking at your compass.
The reward crate price resets every Sunday.

To possibly answer the question of why it's so much more successful than its predecessors, it's fast... for a game like this, it has satisfying gunplay on top of making the rounds go faster, vehicles are ready to use by anyone from the start, guns and gear are easy to find, it's easy to team up with friends and matchmake, it's all designed to be fast and easy to play, as opposed to the original mod based on Arma's engine or King of the Kill based on H1Z1's survival mechanics. Those two remain more popular than the other indie titles to use this concept, and now Battlegrounds has taken the top spot in the genre, i imagine most games of this type in the future will pursue this faster more approachable playstyle.

Brad only had the dodge roll, which he did try to use to close the distance in those situations. Didn't look like he had any other options from what I saw.

Excellent UPF. Crawl looks rad and it was super entertaining to watch you guys play it.

I don't know if it would be possible but a GBW vs GBE squad fight in a match of Battlegrounds would be fun. If they managed to get into the same game they could try to land near each other or just let luck play out and see if they meet up. I'm downloading the game now, I was going to get it after Vinny took a look at it but I still spend most of my gaming time in Overwatch and it's new event.

Rorie also didn't know how to operate doors, or to go down the stairs with the giant pointing finger, or that the ghosts couldn't be killed. It can all be chalked up to trying to host a show and also play a game at the same time, everyone on the couch is guilty of it at some point or another.

Crawl has come a long way. The systems look way more refined now with a definite aim to keep the game competitive at all stages. Nice work!

I have a 1080 and it runs at over 60 FPS (1440P) with no problems without sacrifices, not sure what was up with the office PC. Wouldn't surprise me if it's CPU related, that seems to be a trend in Early Access.

Paying a repair place to fix something and expecting them not to break anything else in the process is now an elitist position on the Internet, good to know.

I took it apart myself this weekend to figure out what happened and they did a lot more than forget a screw. It's very broken.

I'd seriously consider Battlegrounds, but I really don't want to play competitive FPS on the PC.

I'm sure Crawl is fun to play for people who enjoy that style of game. Not my kind of thing at all, but hey, personal taste.

An hour of it on this UPF was probably a bit much. I found it pretty boring to watch, and ended up skipping ahead a few times. Happy for those who enjoyed watching it though.

Yeah, that Crawl segment went on for way too long. I would've liked to see more of Flinthook and Jeff playing Playerunknown's Battlegrounds.

I am on my 2nd Pioneer Elite receiver. Not cheap but they have both been amazing. You can usually get a good discount buying on ebay.

I would have just turned around and brought that receiver back. You would NOT want people you are shaming for bad workmanship in your house.

I'd love to see a Battlegrounds playdate. Doesn't need to be East vs West, that seems like it would be hard to coordinate with the hectic nature of the game. I'd love to see some Duo or Squad action though.

Crawl seems super dope. I love the compressed sound on everything, especially that Skeleton laugh.

Good show. Definitely wanna see more Crawl and Battlegrounds in the future.
