lmao. DOTA segment was one of my favorite UPF segments ever:

• Dan's incredulous reactions throughout. "WHY WOULD YOU BUY THAT?!?!?!"
• Jeff enabling Brad's self destructive crack cocaine addiction.

I played a good amount of original WC3 DOTA back in the day -- back when I was really into Wc3. Haven't played it since though.

Please @unastrike, take a picture of Dan crying at Raw and threaten to release it the next time he insults your fighting game skills.

I remember seeing a SkyNet trailer on The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall CD.

It frightens me that I relate the most to Dan during the DotA segment. DotA still seems like the worst shit ever.

Wow, Jeff's using the same gear and is about the same level as he was in the PSO2 TNT from 2012. I thought he would have played more of the game over the years.

We're going to need another DotA fashion show.

I'm afraid Dan has little ground to stand on in regards to DOTA spending since he was all hot to buy the Fallout 4 CE to get some crappy PDA holder and already has the crappy night vision goggles from CoD.

Of course what do I know, I'm looking at my Fallout 3 bobble head right now.

I can't wrap my head around Dota 2. What is the compendium? Why would you spend hundreds of dollars on it? Why would you want to pay extra for a pointless digital signature from some other person who plays Dota 2? Why the fuck would you hold onto a completely lame and useless digital item that's worth two thousand real world dollars? Please, someone explain this.

I saw that, but it still wasn't clear to me what exactly it is. Actually it makes it even more confusing to me, because not only is it really expensive, but it seems to be only temporary. Is its use completely tied to the international competition? Is it just a means of keeping up with the competition and unlocking random stuff?

PSO seems like circle-strafe backwards while holding down fire the game. I don't really remember it being that bad on dc or gamecube but I guess it's been a really, really long time.

There is not much to get your head around. People really like dota2 and eat up anything connected to it. Thats fine, thats also nothing new.

@noah_duncanson: Nah, it's just how Jeff is playing that class. Rangers are not exactly frontline fighters or geared for solo play in the first place, their skills trees are also geared towards standing still and placing weak bullets. Take a look at gameplay videos for any other class and you'll see just how energetic they are in comparison.

If this has taught me anything it's that DOTA's appeal still doesn't make any damn sense to me AND that I should probably try to get some PSO on at some point. The translation still seems rough but it brought back fond Dreamcast gaming memories seeing all that circling and strafin'.

@tikicobra: I can't speak to the DOTA addiction but, as far as the real world money is concerned, I think it's locked into your Steam account and can't be "cashed out" so to speak for use anywhere else you might want it (Like the real world for example!). Could be wrong of course. I'm just going by how sales on the marketplace go: You can get paid there but it can only be used on there as well. Still...Thousand bucks on Steam would get you places for sure.

I'm waiting for Jason to get to the point to where he's basically Vinny during the TNTs like 3 years ago. The longer the show would go, the more bored he would get and therefore the crazier he would be with the Tricaster.

Oh my god dota is dumb! I wish I could get into a game a dumb as dota but not dota.

The Dreamcast version was very different, even when playing a ranger (which wasn't ideal for solo plays in either game, I'm sure).

For better or worse, it was heavy on animation priority. It was much slower and more deliberate. You could almost compare it to Dark Souls? Both in terms of learning enemy attack patterns and your own attack animations as well as the plot being meted out via short text messages.

I love how Dan thinks spending an hour griefing people in DOTA is playing DOTA.

I don't know why but whenever it comes to wrestling I turn into the biggest hypocrite. Dan is clearly perturbed by this rightfully sad news and all I can do is keep rolling my eyes. The worst part is that I fully understand why he would care and why this is really tragic news, I mean people (including myself) care about all sorts of different things. Yet whenever it comes to wrestling I turn into classic internet jerk thinking "durr who cares it's just stupid wrestling." It's truly bizarre.

I feel like this was a pretty entertaining UPF until Jeff played PSO2. I don't think the gameplay is good enough to justify an hour of video. It just seems like traditional third person shooter stuff. I really like the character designs, though.

I kind of feel like a jerk when I criticise the content of UPF because of the nature of UPF but sometimes I just feel like they're just filling space with games that are fun to play, maybe, but just aren't fun to watch.

As an aside, their setup for PC play is super bad for your neck! The top third of the screen should be level with your eyes!!! Looking down at a monitor like Jeff is is ergonomically incorrect and dangerous for your spinal health!!!!!!!!!

Mann, Jeff made me really want to check out pso2 again. Great english community when I was playing. I remember being really excited when I got the vol scale sword with really good stats on it. I recall it being one of the high end items since the game was still early.

@danryckert just drank some crushed bugs there. I remember when they got the chocolate wine, they mentioned Carmine as one of ingredients. That color is the main reason I always check the ingredients before consuming any red candy/drinks etc. - just creeps me out.

Hunt for Red October made me laugh a lot, especially Connery Doom-face and the retro bombs. When my uncle got rid of his old Spectrum game collection I inherited such memorable offal as Back To The Future and Beverley Hills Cop, so I might have a soft spot for these low-effort tie-ins.
