I vaguely recall that the first turtle in Mario 2 (Lost Levels) was the secret to the same infinite life trick as 3-1 in the OG game if you bounced the mushroom and used that to break the right blocks to leave the Koopa on a single block. It was a serious hint you were going to need those lives and what kind of game this was going to be. I don't think I've ever beaten Lost Levels without warping.

EDIT - Oh man this was a UPF that I would like to have been in the chat. The timer in Fallout 1 needing to be gamed to get the best ending (that most people never saw), and the Sawsbuck ID.

Fun show! I actually thought they rolled with the tech hiccups pretty well.

Yeah, Red Dead Redemption still looks kinda bad. I always felt the cutscenes in that game had kind of a disjointed feeling to them, as if the conversations were stitched together. And just to clarify, the acting is great, it's just the pacing of the cutscenes themselves that seems off.

Also Nier, the actual best soundtrack of that year. :3 Though yeah, EO III is incredible as well. I love anything by Yuzo Koshiro (except for the horrible Wangan Midnight euro dance tracks).

Another fun UPF, especially considering the circumstances, but oh my god, @brad, how have you never played Fallout 1 and 2? Those are amazing games and by far the best in the series. Make a show out of playing them or whatever, but do play them!

Also after googling Sawsbuck I have to say that Mary's costume is neat.

Ha, the "deer" thing really took off on Pinterest, so a bunch of my friends had costumes that looked super similar to Mary's. Spinning it into a Pokemon was a nice touch.

It may be the perspective, but mary looks like she's really tall.

@whalesex: I also agree with this. I feel like Rorie tries way too hard on live shows. Whenever he's on the podcast he doesn't bother me but this was actually rough to watch. I feel like Rorie is a good person, but, the pressure of being on a live show makes him say and do things that are cringe worthy. A bad case of word vomit. I actually want him to be on more live shows so that he can kinda find his personality because sometimes he's super insightful on certain subjects.
