I have to agree the Wild looked cool as fuck. And, I actually think that while David Cage is a bit too in love with himself, I do get something out of his games. I'm looking forward to the next game out of Quantic Dream.

I'm sad that the date for No Man's Sky is so far off, but such is life...it is done when it is done. Also, PS4 has a pant load of games coming out in Feb, March and April so I'm glad NMS gets ist own date out of teh way of the games taht got shifted into next year.

VR is not going to be a think for Sony until late 2016 or early 2017, so I actually think what they say now is not really useful. I'm one of those people that think VR games might not be the really interesting stuff gamers will ACTUALLY want to do with VR.

Overall, it was an okay show. Not e3 level, but it really should be that level for this time of year.

What I liked, or found noteworthy
- Boundless (the lego/minecraft looking thing) is something i'd like to know more about.
- Still have no clue how Matterfall plays...but interesting cutscene or clip.
- No Man's Sky has voice, so I guess it will have some narration.
- Horizon Zero Dawn just looks neat as can be...the look and play seem great
- Wild, I think GB is wild about Wild
- Detroit looks interesting in a weird way that only David Cage can bring. I have always found something interesting in the QD games, even if David oversells the wrong bits.

I went and looked up PGW attendance to see how big it is, and it is 2nd behind Gamescom as the biggest video game expo with 272,000 in 2014. Did not know it was that big of a thing. Very interesting.

I can't put into words how much I disliked that android demo. It was one long, big cliche and it wasn't even about the android. She had no agency. Like any girl in David Cage's games, she was something to look at and nothing else.

This dude and whoever is making stories with him needs to stop, or take a good and long look at their craft and how they can improve.

Selling VR is going to be fucking hard if this is what Sony produce.

Hyped as fuck for Wildlife Cop. It's easy to be cynical, but Robinson: The Journey actually seemed kind of cool too.

Detroit looks duuuuuuuuuuuumb. I appreciate any big-budget attempts to push narrative in games, but they should find someone who can actually write first.

@the_nubster: I'm not even a big fan of QD, but you saw all of 5 minutes of a game with almost no context. You are definitely not qualified to say the main character lacks agency at this point. It wasn't about the android because it's not a story trailer. It's the "mood setting/check out our world" teaser for a game that's probably at least a year off. FFS...

They've shown a tech demo a few years back which was home to some horrendous writing, and Cage himself said that this game is an extension of it. This entire teaser consisted of ham-fisted imagery of slavery and oppression while a very by-the-numbers monologue played over it. If a teaser, which is meant to gather interest and impress, fails to do either of those things, am I not allowed to voice my opinions on why?

Moreso, that company has made some of the poorest stories in recent memory, filled with plot-holes, blatant sexism, and unrealistic characters with very little development. You saying that I am not qualified to pick a bone with this trailer, whatever that means, is saying that I have to completely ignore everything this studio has done up to this point and take this game completely fresh. Sorry, that's not how it works. They've made bad games in the past and they're making another. Their track record tells me to be critical.

And by the way, my comment about the android lacking agency was in regards to their tech demo years ago, which was finished, as of that point in time. You're right in that I don't know how much agency this character will have, but based on their tech demo and how they've chosen to show women in their previous games, I'm going to assume not very much.

I am too but in the same way I love horrible FMV games, I just don't know if that hammy, camera mugging sells to general audiences.

Wyld looked interesting and playing the role of a shark desperately rolling it's way towards water seemed fun. That Gran Turismo stuff had me yelling "Enough of this season crap and just make your damn game!" at the stream though and as for Detroit, well, that is going to be terrible.

Someone call David Cage and tell him about Until Dawn: "Mr. Cage, your services are no longer required. We have a team that can do interactive storytelling already...and do it better than you." Especially since he's historically been so full of himself that I'm amazed people put up with him at all. Oh and his games aren't enjoyable, that's a good reason too.

VR continues to be unimpressive to me as well, doubly so when they bring out "Anguish Man" and "Concerned Lady" to really hammer the point home.

Horizon looks like a less-interesting Lost Planet.

Wild and Horizon were the only things shown here that really interested me aside from the Bloodborne dlc. I was actually really impressed with how cool and amusing Wild looked.

As a French person, the pre-show was absolutely hilarious to me. Between the amazing pronunciations and the Paris stereotypes, I loved it. My favourite part was Brad going all like "yeah I know France, they have plates of face cow meat and stuff", I was in tears.

That's why I never correct people whenever they talk about other countries. It's just too much fun :'D

You are ignoring this studio's track record though. Indigo Prophecy has an 85% on gamerankings. Heavy Rain has an 89%, and Beyond: Two Souls has a 72%. Two very good scores and a decent score. I see "bad" exactly nowhere, and a ton of people love those games, Heavy Rain especially. So you're certainly not basing your opinion on any actually objective track record of the studio, but just your personal one. You're biased. You don't like the games Quantic Dream makes, so why even talk about their new one at all? Why acknowledge its existence? If you don't like their game that got a fucking 89%, you're never going to like a game they make no matter how good it is. When I see shit I know I'm not gonna like or be interested in, I ignore it, not trash on it based on exactly zero information.

I'm sure Detroit will disappoint in a lot of ways, because Quantic Dream. But dammit, I am all on-board for it... because Quantic Dream. I simultaneously love and hate their games.

And, to be honest, I'm partially being suckered in by my love of dystopian future cities, and that is a gorgeous one.

Still super excited for Dreams as well.

Wait, what happened to the BioShock/The Darkness vibe they had in that last Black Ops III Zombies Trailer? Did they actually get enough backlash that they decided to make it boring Nazi bullshit again?

Heavy Rain is easy. How many characters appeared naked or near naked in Heavy Rain. Where they only female? That's like sexism 101.

Why are you guys calling that Kara tech-demo a teaser? It was clearly a tech demo for PS4. He even says it on stage. This game was inspired from was originally not meant to be a game. The huge buzz it got from around the internet is probably what got them to make it into a game. They aren't even using the same model or assembly of the android either.

I love my PS4 (and Xbox One) but man they really like to announce games that are a ways off. Detroit: Become Human, Gran Turismo Sport, Wild, Tekken, Matterfall, Dreams, Boundless, etc...

Why so many 2017 and beyond games? I guess for hype... maybe

I'm a wait and see on the VR stuff.

Anyway, can't wait for Uncharted, Horizon, Street Fighter, The Last Guardian, No man's Sky and more for 2016.

Which is exactly what I was getting at the in the first place. You are assuming a lot based on very little. And like I said, I'm not defending QD. I never played Heavy Rain besides a demo like 8 years ago, never finished Fahrenheit and never even bothered with Beyond. I think Dah*veed Cage is a silly French fucker who makes silly games that look nice and seem to have terrible voice acting. I was merely pointing out that by assuming all this baggage before literally anyone (let alone you yourself) even plays the game, you are prejudging the game unfairly, which, going by all evidence thus far, I'd bet is the type of behaviour you flip your shit over when someone else is the culprit.

PS4 is the France of game consoles.

Nothing is less interesting than Lost Planet. Maybe Haze is less interesting than Lost Planet.

I'm kind of bummed that they stepped away from the trend of revealing a game with showing actual gameplay (like they did last E3 and the Gamescom before that).

Matterfall, GT Sport and Detroit were the big reveals and none of them had any gameplay.

Dreams is looking very interesting, can't wait to get my hands on that and create stuff. No Man's Sky is now a VR title (believe). And I hear no one talking about Boundless, which had a very interesting look. Seems to me it was a kind of Minecraft where you could enter eachother's worlds and help out with stuff?
