You people will hate ANYTHING.
Who hates this?
I'm just curious if this is going to be anything more than just hosting their podcast here...

Been listening to the 8-4 podcast for a while but this is the first time i've seen any of the people from it. Its always weird putting faces to the disembodied voices you've been hearing for over a year.
Great decision, I've seen quite a few people here complain about the lack of coverage/appreciation of Japanese games, this seems like exactly what the doctor ordered.

It's called professionalism.
No, the professional thing to do would have been "hey guys, we like your podcast and all, and wish you nothing but the best, but it just wouldn't make sense for us to host it on our site."
If you don't trust the Giantbomb crew's journalistic integrity then you are wasting your time here.
For now, take a deep breath. Giant Bomb will continue to have Quick Looks, reviews, and longwinded discussions about Tetsuya Nomura.
Please, just don't. I don't think my heart can handle any more misinformation.
Hopefully Ryan will begin the next Bombcast with IRRRRRAAASHHAAIII...
This is neat, and if it has no affect on my RSS feeds that's great. Life continues as normal.
And FUCK do those guys like to argue. If you laugh about Vinny being a pottymouth, protect your virgin little ears from Mark MacD. They also mention Giant Bomb every other episode it seems like. So really, if you don't "get" the linkage between these sets of dudes, then this is a good chance to re-spec your podcast chops.
It was nothing to do with swooning over just them just being plain ignorant. Seriously a little jrpg discussion here and there is all people want instead of the normal knee jerk reactions towards the genre. This is great news. Now folks can stop bitching about Giant Bomb not covering or swooning over Japanese games enough. As for 1UP, it's sad what they have become in the last three years.
It's great that the 8-4 podcast will no longer be left to wither on 1up's dying vine. It deserves an audience and you know damn well it wasn't getting much traction over there. I never thought I would say this but I kind of can't wait for TGS now.

8-4 does a lot of the tales localizations btw
they also did Nier, though, which was fantastic and amazing.
Hmm, I'll need to check out which ones. Tales is certainly the better of Namco's products when it comes to localizations from what I've played, especially when given the sheer amount of dialogue that's in those games.
They've also localized every Metal Gear game since Portable Ops.
Really? You sure about that?
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrraaashhhhhamase! 8-4 (Is that right?) I hope this means they won't be so strict to cease off topic chat in future, My favourite podcasts are those where the crew aren't afraid to talk bollocks. e.g Frank Skinner, Podtoid and the old Talkradar UK podcast before they stopped.

That seems like a really smart way to run a website, especially concerning new users.
"Hey guys, I'm new here and I'm really enjoying the site's sense of humor and content! But, I did have one question; why does Giant Bomb host the 8-4 podcast? Aren't they, like, in the dev-"
"If you don't trust Giant Bomb and everyone who works there then you should just leave right now!"
I actually thought Mark looked like somebody else from the 1up crew. It made this video weird.Been listening to the 8-4 podcast for a while but this is the first time i've seen any of the people from it. Its always weird putting faces to the disembodied voices you've been hearing for over a year.
