Electronic Arts Purchases PopCap, Jeff Green for $750 Million

Oh no. EA is going to run PopCap to the ground. Annual releases for Peggle, PvZ, and Bejeweled with preorder bonauses, and they will now have DLC that cost a lot of money. This is terrible news, no worst choice could be made on this decision oh god, everything will now be brown and gray and a first person shooter and be released on origin.

THIS IS WHAT THIS NEWS MEANS, GUYS!

This makes sense after seeing Zygna going public. EA probably wants PopCap to go in hard on the mobile gaming market.

Jeff Green has the Green Thumb.

This news should be a clarion call for any aspiring developers to get into gear. You don't need to make highly technical games to make an absolute fortune. PopCap have plied their trade doing polished 2D stuff which a lot of people still love to play.

Next news story: Everyone from Popcap has been layed off.....except Jeff Green. He will be at EA for the rest of his life (and afterlife), as per the contract for his soul.

EA seems to own other really great studios that have plenty of control over their IP's. I'm not to worried at this point, if anything they might be able to make better games due to increased resources.

If anyone at EA has payed any attention to the remarks he´s been giving to press about them Jeff won´t have that job very long.

I would feel bad but laugh neverless if he lost his job within a week.

Jeff Green left EA just to end up working for them again.

Green is just the sort of new blood EA needs right now.

Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle just became souless annual franchises.
