Swery Would Really Love It if Someone Would Help Fund His New Game

To be perfectly honest, Deadly Premonition was only accidentally amazing. As much as I would love to see what SWERY could come up with next, I'm afraid that lighting won't strike twice and anything else for the man would just be all the way bad.

I would pay an advance 60 dollars right now for a Swery game, even though it doesn't exist yet.

Deadly Premonition may have been a weirdly compelling, abstract piece of art, but it sure as hell was not a good (or even decent) game and the wrong turns the design team took certainly had nothing to do with its budget. Therefore I'm not convinced he could make a game I'd actually want to play regardless of funding and I definitely don't want my money to play a part in his doing.

I wish Swery and co. would develop a PSN/XBLA title. Digital distribution seems to be more suitable for games with that team's brand of... weirdness.

I think this guy could be a financially successful every time if he was pitching like $15 PSN/XBLA titles rather than something that needed to be pressed to a disc and had a budget that reflected it..

What I want to know is, what happened to all the weird guys before Suda51 and between him and Swery65?

This was a fun read. I hope Swery and Access Games find a publisher soon, hopefully one that can give them a respectable budget, then again, the distinctly low-budget feel of Deadly Premonition is part of its charm.

In a perfect world, he would be a high concept / story guy, and someone else would design gameplay.

I was under the impression Deadly Premonition actually sold quite well, considering it was a budget game with no marketing whatsoever that no one heard of until it arrived on store shelves (well, except those handful of people who remembered that TGS trailer). I remember it being in the top 10 on Amazon for a bit there. Remarkable feat for such a small game.

Sorry, Swery. Apparently you have to promise to spend 14 years developing your next game or have a gun in it named after your genitals that talks about dicks all the time, in order to get funding in this industry, now.

Dear SWERY, enclosed within is all of my money. Please make another game.

jeff, ryan, vinny and brad should have another marathon endurance run to raise funds ala Super Mario Marathon

if he takes public funding we could all get credit and then have our own giant bomb wiki page

if he gets this made, at least i'll have another endurance run to watch.

How about if I agree to go ahead and pre-order now.  Yes Deadly Premonition had a few problems but I swear I loved playing that game.  

Someone really needs to setup a Kickstarter for Swery. mc chris has raised $59,000 to make a cartoon. I'm sure Swery could raise some start up money for his new project.

First I've heard of this Kickstarter stuff, but I'd donate to Swery's next project. 
It's disappointing to hear they haven't even started on a new game. I was under the impression it was underway.

From the interviews I've read, Swery wasn't actually given a huge budget to work with on DP, and yet somehow did quite a lot with very little. Maybe a game within the downloadable space could be an avenue he might take?

I can only hope that his next project comes out on PS3!  Although if it's anything like DP, I'd much rather watch it in some sort of extended playthrough on a videogame site :P

I had to borrow a 360 and I bought the game brand new (you're welcome, Swery!) and played it for a week straight. It. Was. Amazing.... Great... Amazing... Yes...

I would gladly eat a sinner's sandwich to account for any wrongs PS3 folk gave Mr. Swery!
