Stop motion done well looks way better than CGI.  You can always spot CGI stuff right away, but stop motion stuff is all real.

Stop motion made the original MK games look much better than anything else back then. It really gave it a visual flair that other games lacked. Just imagine what could be done with today's technology is they combined it with the tech of the early days. It could probably look pretty cool but a lot of care would have to put into it to pull it off now.

That's pretty cool. I think the old methods are the best. There is definitely some craftsmanship involved in the way that movies and games were made back then compared to now.
