Ubisoft is promising some storyline resolution in Revelations, but it's hardly the end of the line.

Ubisoft has made the enormously successful Assassin’s Creed franchise its Call of Duty by this point, able to put together well-received iterations of the series on an annual basis.

That will continue next year, as well, company CEO Yves Guillemot revealed on an investor call this morning.

Guillemot described next year’s entry as another “major” installment for Assassin’s Creed, but didn’t reveal any details on the game itself, teasing details would be available in the “coming months.”

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, which is supposed to bring an end to both Ezio and Altair’s storylines, is the fourth Assassin’s Creed game.

EDIT: WOW! Call me dumb, but that's the quest everyone talks about? I never cared for quests so i didn't knew. Man, now i feel bad for saying just one word.

It's a-me, Ezio!

I like him and all, but it's time to move on. Desmond's turn.

I think we all expect Assassin's Creed 3 to be next year :O

#8 Posted by Rhombus_Of_Terror (1946 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

It should be called Assassin's Creed 3. No subtitle, short name, new story, and I'll be fine with that.

#9 Posted by Mystyr_E (1060 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

ugh, just give me a new Prince of Persia damnit!

#11 Posted by 2Thumbs (83 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Assassins Creed 3 then... Or would they call it 5?

#12 Posted by Ezekeilpurger (319 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

E3 2012 we will finally hear news about Assassin's Creed 3, the third Assassin's Creed game!

Yeah, Revelations ends the Ezio saga, and then they make a new saga with 3 and then they end it without milking the franchise beyond saving

Thought they might have had a bit more of a gap if they're developing a new protagonist and storyline. I guess if they left it any later it might be around the time they'd be starting developing for the next round of consoles though.

They haven't let me down so far. Eleven months is long enough for me to want more Assassin's Creed again. Looking forward to it.

I loved the first two, but couldn't finish Brotherhood. I think I'm out.

#17 Posted by SotoSaki (250 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Well they did say they want to end Desmond's story in the year that the game takes place in. It makes sense.. At least for 3 we will have a new time period and assassin.

i was ready for all desmond outing in ac2. enough already!

#19 Posted by JoeyRavn (4391 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I'm totally OK with this. More AC is always welcome in my book.

I dunno... I LOVE Assassin's Creed, probably my favorite series of games in this gen of consoles. But I'm starting to feel a bit nervous. Revelation looks to be amazing, but i dunno if they should make, what I would assume to be, Assassin's Creed 3 so soon without giving the series a little break.

Great?

I guess they havent gone wrong so far...

#22 Posted by Vorbis (2746 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

AC3 with a new Assassin or I'm going to lose interest. Still finding it hard to care about Revelations but will have to get it regardless just to see what happens with Desmond.

Like that's a shock, but one I'm fine with. And since we're ending Altair's and Ezio's plots in Rev, should be interesting how it'll resolve itself in this "third" game.

#25 Posted by Tennmuerti (6807 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I don't see any news here.

#26 Posted by UKSamwise (433 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

At this point it has to be Assassin's Creed 3.

#27 Posted by rjayb89 (7553 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I still want to play as Kristen Bell, even though, you know.

#28 Posted by tactis (326 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I love AC a lot so I am totally ready for AC:Revelations and AC3 next year.

Congratulations to you anyway :)

I think I'm on the verge of AssCreed fatigue. Unless the next years title is something new(er), I think I'll put this series on the shelf for a while.

#30 Posted by SerHulse (646 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

huh, is anyone else feeling like they are getting burnt out on this? I think it would do them well to take a year or 2 off for now.

I hope they change it up in the next instalment
Set AC3 in somewhere like Edo or earlier Japan in a different looking aesthetic and tone.

Can't believe people aren't bored of this yet

#33 Posted by WJist (297 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

There's a lot of questions to answer after the ending of the last game. I'd like to see the Brotherhood mechanic expanded a little more, MGS: Peace Walker-style, probably my favorite part of the last AC game besides the refreshing multiplayer.

#34 Posted by MeatSim (9284 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Maybe I will be over my Assassins Creed fatigue by then.

#35 Edited by BlatantNinja23 (898 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I'm sure it's AC 3... but there's a part of me that would actually rather have AC 3 in the next console cycle, and i want a new Prince of Persia preferably a sequel to the 08 game. But I love AC and they've continued to get better and better, so i have no issue getting one each year.

They should do a game where your character creates the weapons and/or the gadgets he uses. Or maybe manage a "brotherhood of assassins" in a bigger scale, maybe with a few player choices. I don't know.
#37 Posted by Vetterli (89 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Alright, Assassin's Creed: London. Gimme!

#38 Posted by jackelbeaver (104 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

maybe it'll be a complete pack of 1 2 B R? Can't be 3 already..unless they've been secretly working on it all this time..

I imagine they have been developing 3 since finishing 2. I doubt BroHood and Rev have taken all of their resources, it's not like they altered the gameplay or engine that much.

Enough! You need to give franchises a breather of at least 2 years otherwise they go stale fast.

Great series, looking forward to whats next!

Yeah, that's the quest everyone talks about. It's not as hard as people make it out to be, as long as you're on the site pretty often. By far the easiest way to do it is get the first comment on some trailer for a random game not a lot of people care about. Or the first comment on a news article.

Or the first comment on basically anything that isn't announced on the homepage. People trying to get first comment on Quick Looks that are announced like 6 hours in advance are idiots, because there are going to be way more people trying for those, and your odds of getting first comment are low.

The Game Informer cover that announced AC:R basically confirmed that 3 is coming next year, and AC:R is designed pretty much explicitly to set that up.

#44 Posted by CL60 (16906 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Most likely Assassins Creed 3.

That would be fantastic! Give this person a raise!

Why won't they put 500 people on a Prince of Persia game? AC is stupid. He will be dead in the first 10 sec if he wears that dumb hoodie.

I wish they would make an Assassin's Creed set in Mexico. I just watched The Mask of Zorro recently and it seemed like I was watching someone play Assassin's Creed in Mexico!
