I did, at least...at 1st Act Hell with my frozen orb sorc, softcore though. Maybe should make a smiter paladin to try out the new Uber bosses. D2 forums are rather lively as well, I bet I'm not alone :P.
Diablo II
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Jun 29, 2000
The sequel to Blizzard's popular action-RPG features a larger and more varied world, new playable classes, and expanded skill trees. Even moreso than its predecessor, Diablo II would provide a blueprint followed by many later RPGs and action games.
Who's excited enough about D3 to start D2 again?
You sure aren't man! I actually picked Diablo II up a few weeks before the announcement because a few of my friends were playing it. After screwing around with a paladin for a few levels, I decided to level up a Barbarian. I'm going with a whirlwind/conc build which has turned out to be pretty fun. So far I'm only at lvl 27, so I haven't had a chance to even try out whirlwind yet. Overall, the game felt really slow at first but it's been slowly growing on me.
I can't wait for Diablo III, even though I know it'll be forever before we even hear about a solid release date. Damn you Blizzard!
I got back into it as well, dragged a few of my buddies along too. Judging by how well the game is selling right now (think it was 4th on the NPD PC chart last week) I'd say we're not alone :)
I went out and bought the expansion pack to commemorate the diablo 3 news. hadn't played through that so i started an assassin. hopefully playing through the game again can knock off a few months off waiting for 3.
"Doogie2K said:Right now, Javalin."Yo. Lightningzon. Just started last night, and thanks to the magic of solo eight-player mode, Level 10 after just the first two quests.
"
javazon, spearazon, or bowazon?"
I also have a Barb in cold storage, Level 31. Forgot I had him, went and made a third (lost the first one, along with a Pally and a Necro, in a wipe). ;)
-Not a fan of the original.
-Saw the footage of 3.
-Got excited.
-Aquired 2.
-Found a mod to get it to play full screen.
-Played it for a couple of hours, thought : "hey this isnt so bad."
-Was mercilessly struck down in the third dungeon.
-Lost everything.
-Remembered why i stopped playing it ten years ago.
-Cursed it for wasting 2 hours of my life and uninstalled it.
-Probably for the best.
"-Not a fan of the original.Fortunately, I haven't had to do a corpse run yet, and I'm almost done Act I, but I've been spoiled by WoW, and I'm not looking forward to it. I wonder if that's something they're going to change in D3, along with respecs? I'd guess so, given that each of their action RPGs, including the Hero system of WarCraft III, has used the lessons learned in the previous game fairly effectively.

The thought had crossed my mind, but I played the heck outta diablo when it was realeased and every time i go back i get all excited beat some quests and realize thats all i needed for awhile
I jumped back into the game because of the announcement as well. Now, me and an old buddy of mine are back to playing it again in hardcore mode. I already have a 50 meteorb sorc and he is just starting now (just got done rushing him to act 5 as of this writing actually). It is just as fun as ever and has me pumped to play Diablo III. Can not wait!
Some friends and I were so excited about D3 when it was first announced we started to play D2 again. That did not last long though lol
I played the crap out of that game back in its day so I got tired of it really fast, and I've got a pile of current games I want to play anyway. But when D3 comes out, I'll be back on the ol' Diablo-crack :D
I never played the original,(i was 3 in that time) but Diablo II was a taste of fun for me and i finished it 2 months ago for the first time.
and although DII was a great game, i don't think that Diablo III will be a good game. attend that this new lead designer, jay wilson rathers to play God of War more than diablo. what deos it means? Diablo III = Gay.
I'm a recovering Diablo 2 addict. I'm stoked about Diablo 3, but I've lost my original disks for Diablo 2, and I'm not about to pay the same price for the Diablo 2 collection that I paid over five or six years ago. If Blizzard brought the prices down, I'd play it again in a heartbeat.
I'm debating whether to go with a Necromancer or a Barbarian... I usually go with a Barbarian, but I want to try something "new"(though I've also played Necromancer before), something that isn't such a kick ass melee fighter. Just something about raising the dead to aid slay your enemies that resonate with me... Too bad all the bodies explode when you fight Diablo...
Why even get Diablo 3? I can't see it any deeper than the carpal tunnel destroying grindfest of the first two.
