The case looks awesome, and even though theer is no mention of Jack Black on it, one look at the character and you could recognise him. As long as EA market this right, it will hopefully be an amazing seller!

Brütal Legend Shall Brutalize Retail In This Hellish Form
Lot of people saying that jack black's name isnt on the front. I'm predicting his name will be on the back cover. The front is to grab your attention which it does quite nicely, and I'm sure his name will be on the back to something like JACK BLACK is EDDIE RIGGS... or something of that nature.
I want a poster of it myself. And yes this does look to have a mass-market appeal to it too. But its hard to say as i have been following the game for a year or so now. I'm just still mad that their is no PC version of it. Oh well i guess i need some game to turn my 360 on for. Oh god its gonna RROD from all the dust around it i just know it is. I have gotten away with no problems with it for too long. Other then the whole needing to drive to the store 6 times (1 hour each way and this was back when gas was up to $1.40 a liter) to finally get a 360 that worked.
YES YES YES YES YES!
Hopefully this will help sell copies of the game, even more so than Jack Black.
Glad to see they've been advertising for the game as well...
I own a copy of Psychonauts, and I'll definitely be picking this up when it comes out.
Hopefully everybody else does too.
I like that it doesn't say "Staring Jack Black" on the front. I also love (and have loved since my first view of it) the rock-dude version of the Double Fine logo. The special EA logo is also nice. I've loved games Tim Schafer has worked for a long time (he was a writer on Secret of Monkey Island). I hope the game is up to his usually high standards and (if it is) also becomes a big commercial hit. Ken Levine was involved in tons of critical successes for years before Bioshock hit big commercially, now it's Tim Schafer's turn.
Judging by that shade of that blue sky it could pretty easily have the L4D effect of drawing a customers attention away from the usual darker covers.
SOLD!
I like that they didn't bill Jack Black at all, I also wondering if this will be the PAL region box art or if we will get an alternative as is often the case.
i can see it selling because jack black is in it. which is not really a good reason for a game to sell
If you're already familiar with the game, this box art is great. I can imagine it looks a little goofy, and maybe even borderline stupid to someone who isn't already aware of it. I sure hope it's a success. I know I'm looking forward to it whether the mainstream audience catches on or not.
Looking pretty awesome. I like how they took the liberty to make the Double Fine logo totally metal.
Who knows what grabs the attention of the average consumer? Crap still sells. Marketing is everything unfortunately. Not for you or me, but to hit the multimillion mark you have to shove the product down people's throats or they won't even know it exists. He's holding a guitar out into the foreground. Maybe Guitar Hero fans wil mistake it for a rythm game. The game looks great, and I'm sure it will be. But lots of good games have been made and sold like shit. Only time will tell. By the way, I thought EA dropped this game; or am I confusing the details? EA...
"A Tim Schafer Game"
Oh my that's totally sexy. More games need to do this.

" >A tim schafer gameDoes the average person know who tim schafer is?no. "Now they will. Maybe they'll think Tim Schafer is the guy on the cover, i.e. Jack Black. Only good things can come from this.
it looks like it was better designed for the ps3 box for some reason. like tim schafers name is in that nice little spot there.
those logos and the art are awesome, but i still think that Psychonauts was very overrated. it wasnt even that good of a game, thats why it didnt sell that much. not that hard to figure out. and Brutal Legend pisses me off even more because ITS NOT COMING TO THE FUCKING PC!!! WTF TIM?????
Eddie Riggs does look a good deal like Jack Black so I hope that gets "average" consumers who see this on the store shelf and BUY IT. Please, I want great things for Double Fine. Oh, and I think the cover is a little boring, does anybody think the cover should look just a little more metal?
