Condemned is a first person horror game in which you are tasked with hunting down a serial killer. The game focuses on subjective reality to pull the player into a FPS horror experience.

Overview

What twists the mind of an ordinary human into a serial killer?

Assigned to the Serial Crimes Unit, FBI agent Ethan Thomas must answer this question, and bring the worst of society to justice.  His solve rate is the best in the bureau... perhaps too good !!!
While investigating the growing list of serial killers, Agent Thomas concludes that something is twisting the bodies and souls of those that society has left behind.  The homeless, addicted and deranged are rising from the city's underbelly and committing mindless acts of violence.  Could there be an unseen connection between the increasing brutality of the latest serial killings and the increasing crime rate?
This question is pushed to the forefront after Agent Thomas is framed for the murder of two police officers.  Now he must solve the murders to stop the killings, and exonerate himself from the crimes of which he is accused.

Condemned: Criminal Origins exclusively focuses on its melee and crime solving concepts where the player rarely gets hold of guns to fend of the psycho's that would love nothing more than break Ethan's body. The weapons are mainly of the melee type such as pipes, sledgehammers, fire axes, etc. The investigation aspect of the game has you searching for fingerprints and examining bodies for signs of the cause of death. The forensic tools you use here is also automatically equipped when required. All you need to do is point it in the right direction and follow the prompts. The game was a launch title for the 360 and even now is still held in high regard. The great character models and AI is still great even by today's higher standards. As the game is set in the dark and has you running around with a flashlight, you will see shadows move around and possible enemies jump in and off screen in the distance, you get an idea how the intense feeling you get while playing this game. It will scare you! Stylistically, Condemned shares many similarities with Monolith's own F.E.A.R. franchise

The sequel to Condemned is Condemned 2: Bloodshot.

Bugs

Many players have reported difficulties in unlocking the 'Melee Mayhem Award' Achievement. Players are required to wield every weapon in the game, however sometimes the pick-ups do not register. Swinging or killing with each weapon have been suggested to ensure they are counted. Given the achievement requires a complete play-through, this bug can be particularly troubling.
