Here Are The First Shots Of Crysis 2
The thing that choked up my PC with the original crysis was running it at high resolutions, I could max everything at 720p, but going to 1080p crushed the PC. Crysis 2 on consoles will be like every other console game, rendered at around 720p res, far from as demanding as 1900x1080 or higher PC resolutions. Still going to get it on PC most likely, as long as controller support is still there.
I had to upgrade my computer just to look at those screenshots. No way i will ever be able to play this game.
Hey guys, I was wondering if my PC can run Crysis 2 on SUPAR HIGH??????!!!!
[insert 3 year old gfx card]
[even older CPU]
[far from enough memory]
THX GUISE!!!!11
meh, with all the awesome games coming out this year i gotta wait and really see some footage.
Crysis was groundbreaking in looks, i hope this one will do the same.. although BF:BC2 is high on my ranks now.
Blah. I prefer my crysis to happen in destructible jungles. Cities are boring to look at and have been done over and over. Unless cities have a living population and environment they may as well be large crates with windows.
I suddenly want to upgrade my PC and I haven't even had it long...
It will be very interesting to see what this looks like on consoles. These screenshots almost look CG movie quality. I don't think I can find ANY jagged edges, just how much anti-aliasing is being used here?
I think my PC just shat itself.
If it's in a city, you're gonna need to be able to climb buildings. At which point, I'd prefer a Crytek Spiderman game.
" 1. The textures are bland. 2. The suit is by far the most intricately modeled and best looking thing in those pictures, yet as an FPS you will not be able to see it most of the time >.> 3. Overall, kind of disappointed. I hope that these are shots from the console version. "The textures are great if you see the pics in their native res.
The suit worried me as I thought it had been simplified compared to the original, yet in actual fact it's more complex than the original was if you see the screenshots in their native res, especially the second one. I fail to see how you could be disappointed mate, the shots clearly indicate that CryTek have once again upped the ante with a much higher precision radiosity style renderer than the first game had - look at the knee joints and in fact any metal pieces which are meant to be reflective like the top side edges of the visor; they are incredibly accurate in being lit via highres radiosity and specularity maps, much more so than any other game released so far. These are definitely PC shots as CryEngine is primarily developed on PC and then ported to consoles.
Sorry but I dont believe thats in game footage at all. Some of it looks hand drawn. Also, isnt Crysis a FPS? Or are they changing that now?
Im not one to care for graphics, yes it looks cool, just saying... doesnt look like its from in a game. Certain parts look like drawings.
" Yep, that's Crysis... and running on a seriously high-end PC too, I'm sure. More importantly, though, what will this look like on a 360 or PS3? I loved Far Cry and Crysis, but I'm done with PC at this point. "I agree. I'm done with PC at this point too, other than for RTS games, but I'd prefer playing RTS's on console as well. It's just so much more comfortable to kick back with controller, then to hunch over the mouse and keyboard. The console is just so much easier.
I was talking about the full res screenshots. And I mentioned that the suit looked great, but I found it odd considering you won't be seeing it for most of the game. If you look at the environment there's just nothing "wow" about it, it looks fairly typical. In fact, now that I've taken another look, the texturing of the metal on the bike rack and containers actually looks kind of bad. I'm nitpicking, but things like these stand out to me." @Geno said:
