Hell, there was a guy walking around ToeJam and Earl III who literally called you a girly man for not hooking up to Xbox Live, and that came out in 2002. So this is nothing new.

As long as it's a particular NPC and after you know which it is you never talk to him again, ok. But if it keeps popping up in random chat, lame.

LOL. Yes this is quite old business. It's not like it's saying buy DLC for Mass Effect or some other contrasting universe.

It's not that much different from, say, Burnout Paradise loading screens (specifically the "Burnout News" thing when the game starts up) encouraging you to get Big Surf Island.

So a person YOU address offers you the option - and you rage? Besides that point I actually like how they blend the DLC into the world of Dragon Age.
Beats having to go to a shabby website or marketplace outside of the game to accept the quest for the Warden's Keep if you ask me!

As long as it's not like "Visit dragonage.com to buy the DLC for such and such price" then I don't mind it.

I dont really care, its only one part of the game. And its Dragon Age...so who gives a fuck? Dragon Age does what the fuck it wants.

You're comparing an advert (that was pretty funny and tongue in cheek) in a game that came out almost 20 years ago to a character asking you to buy DLC?     Ugh, get out. "

I think it's great. I don't always check if there is new DLC for a game (especially when it's a PC game), so if an in-game dialogue-tree says "hey, there's a downloadable quest available, want to get it?" in that very subtle way as in the screenshot, then I'm all up for it.

Catering to what we like is how you make profits. Showing our distaste for in-game DLC advertisements is how you change the business model.

This, along with the thing popping up every time I turn the game on asking me to log into my EA account seriously offends me.  Fuck you EA and Bioware.  Still enjoying the game though.
