Fallout 3
Game » consists of 45 releases. Released Oct 28, 2008
In Bethesda's first-person revival of the classic post-apocalyptic RPG series, the player is forced to leave Vault 101 and venture out into the irradiated wasteland of Washington D.C. to find his or her father.
Operation Anchorage is live
Here's a hint- if you download it, and are wondering where to go, tool around for a few minutes. You'll pick up a radio signal which activates the quest and marker.
I've done the first leg of the quest so far, which involves fighting through to an Outcast base. Pretty good fighting, just got inside the base and talked to the leader. Have yet to get in the simulator though.
Though, if it's anything like the official Oblivion
"http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Live/Pages/f3operationanchorage.aspxThat's what I'm concerned about as well. After the fantastic expansions for Morrowind, Bethesda brought bucketfuls of suck to Oblivion's addons and despite the quality of Fallout 3 I'm not expecting miracles out of this extra content. Especially with it costing over $30 when all is said and done.
Though, if it's anything like the official Oblivionmodsadd-ons, its a waste of money."
Met up with the outcasts... killed the mutants that were in that open area... we got up to the door way and for some reason my rifle wasn't out so I accidentally started punching an outcast like a retard. They didn't like that.
I'm a couple of hours in and it's pretty good.
** possible spoilers **
some weird things:
- I found one of the Gary clones in a locked room in the outpost just before entering the simulation.
- There's a computer in the outpost that mentions that one of the programmers put in a bunch of anachronistic stuff into the sim.
- I've had the mysterious stranger show up on over 50% of my kills. He showed up in Tranquility Lane too, so it wasn't a surprise, but he's been appearing a lot.
- I actually managed to devour a chinese soldier before his body phased away, but it made my controller start to rumble out of control and froze the entire game.
Damn so many DLCs that I want to get. I'll spend just about the same for a full price game upgrading Fallout 3, Endwar, and GTA4.
I don't know when I'll get around to doing this since I still have to play the game 2 more times; 1 good, and 1 evil. One of those playthroughs is going to be a "100%" game. I plan to get and see everything...which would include the DLCs.
"http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Live/Pages/f3operationanchorage.aspxIncorrect, KNights of the Nine was the best part about Oblivion

It feels like you're exploring Momma Dolce's, only for around 2 and a half hours (the first segment, pre-squad command anyway). I got a little bored and decided to go do something else (this) so I don't have impressions on the main island.
One thing I've definitely noticed is the visibly improved A.I. It now flanks you, takes cover, takes up positions, etc. It does seem to have a few recognition issues though, although these seem to be related to your companion character for the first part of the mission, because his A.I. is fucked to high hell and causes people around him to do weird things.
I just downloaded it and was under the assumption that it would be a mission outside of my Main character.
Dammit, I'm holding off doing the rest of Fallout 3 since I've maxed out at level 20 and want the killing and missions I finished onward to give me XP for the new level 30 cap. However this seems to still use my existing character and thusly cheating me out of XP for playing it. I'd be pissed if I didn't have other games to play while waiting for the level cap to be raised
Over $30 for PC version ?? I think I'll pass for now.

So, the lvl cap is not raised yet ??
I'm under the impression they're not raising the level cap until the third expansion. I didn't get any XP for killing Super Mutants at the start of the mission, so I quit.
Or you could wait and have a ton of new content to play in March."I think this is the path I'll likely take. I still have to finish the main quest (fucking 100+ hours and still haven't completed the game), so when all of the content comes out, then I'll pounce on it.
"Met up with the outcasts... killed the mutants that were in that open area... we got up to the door way and for some reason my rifle wasn't out so I accidentally started punching an outcast like a retard. They aren't too fond of being attacked upon.
it was very short i dont think it was overly woth it but it was cool wile it lasted.
Man...I just finished it and must say that I'm underwhelmed. A lot of precision ammo picking up, and just a lack of cool things kind of killed it for me. Oh well, hopefully the others will be better.
A fun 2 and a half hours. I had a lot of fun sneaking around and running around with the squad (although their AI fucks up to no end when taking out the Chimera Depot) and the end was pretty bad-ass. The rewards definitely make it worth it. Now to find out how to repair a Gauss Rifle...
I finished the first quest of blowing up the three gun turrents last night. I am really liking it so far. Can't wait to infiltrate the Chinese base with my strike team. We'll show those communist bastards who boss.
"At the end the Scribe lady and I were in the armory and all the sudden all the outcasts attacked. WTF? Did that happen to anyone one else?"The Outcasts don't like sharing the loot with a Local, and rebel. If you're a good shot, you can save the Scribe and McGraw or whatever his name is.
I'm really enjoying it. Short, yes, but honestly more than I expected.
I'm a little annoyed that I missed an Intel case and apparently can't go back to get it and the Covert Ops perk, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to load and old save and rerun it just for +3 to lockpicking. ;)
Oh, and I'm not sure it's worth 800 points/$9.99. I guess it depends how much you like the game. I'm obsessed, so it's worth it for me personally. If you aren't a very big fan of the regular game, though, it might seem like not much for your buck.
